As part of their expansion plan, they are looking for an experienced Head of Compliance to be based in their Hong Kong office. The ideal candidate should have extensive understanding of Hong Kong's regulatory requirements that govern the fintech industry and its products, processes and controls.
Job DescriptionReporting to the Head of East Asia Compliance, you will also be working closely with teams from different functions, across its offices in APAC and headquarters in London. Your responsibilities include:
Gain a deep understanding of the overall business and collaborate closely with teams throughout the organisation to understand both the products and regulatory framework.Ensure all products, processes and controls are in line with Hong Kong's regulatory framework.Support the development of new products and services while enhancing the company's relationships with regulatory bodies in Hong Kong.Ensure compliance remains central to the company's product development efforts by overseeing compliance obligations, navigating regulatory changes, conducting second-line monitoring and oversight, and offering assurance to the Group and Hong Kong Board.Lead and manage new compliance projects across various program areas. Utilise a problem-solving approach to design and implement new processes or coordinate efforts among teams to address control gaps and enhance processes.​Collaborate on global projects focused on driving impact on their rapidly expanding APAC markets.The Successful ApplicantYou will have at least 8 years of experience in managing financial regulation compliance in Hong Kong.Preferably fluent in both English and Cantonese.Wide knowledge and understanding in regulatory compliance, financial crime compliance, financial regulation, especially in Hong Kong's regulatory landscape.Extensive background in financial regulation advisory or compliance roles, and regular engagement with regulators like the C&ED and HKMA.Proven track record in designing and improving current processes for financial products, handle regulatory audits, JFIU reporting, monitor suspicious transactions, and build long-term relationships with regulators and policymakers.Excels in relationship building with both internal and external stakeholders.Agile in analysing various stakeholder's perspective and communicating effectively.Inquisitive about financial products, processes within the country and region.What's on OfferGet the chance to be the Head of Compliance for a company well known globally for its revolutionization of the fintech industry.
