Head of CTO Data Technology Americas & US

Part of the senior leadership team in CTO data technology, the role holder will be leading a team of specialist SMEs, to provide thought leadership to the Senior and Extended leadership team, both in Data Technology and Americas, to set the direction and vision for data technology. The role holder will be also accountable for strategic technology planning, transformation execution and budget delivery with the business.

The role holder will be accountable for the delivery of data technology services to fulfill the data use case and regulatory requirements for the Americas regions. This includes the strategic design, build quality and service uptime metrics. The role holder will govern the data applications to Group data standards and help the business and markets adopt groupwide data capabilities and associated tooling to solve complex and ambiguous problems across multiple markets.

The role holder will lead the team in US, Mexico and Canada, and use global tech centers like India and China, to build and adopt common reusable data technology components required across multiple value streams to deliver excellent results for Americas and the group. They will require building engineering excellence within the team, collaboration with the business, and deliver against a strategic operating plan that ensures resources, including capability, people and funding, can improve current customer journeys, and deliver new features and compelling distinctly native services.

It is also imperative for the role holder to drive simplification of the data technology landscape through the partnership with business to modernize strategic applications and demise non-strategic ones in line with the Data Future State Architecture (FSA).

As our Head of Data Delivery, Americas you will:

Drive engineering excellence and the delivery of digital solutions to help the business achieve data standardization and adoptionDrive Digital Acceleration Program (DAP) agenda through the demise of non-strategic applications and govern against Data Future State ArchitectureCommercialize data technology capabilities in line with business agenda of across the regionNurture the culture of the team towards engineering service excellence, conduct and integrityOutstanding Technology leader who is passionate about driving the business agendaExtensive experience in Americas in leading and collaborating with global technology teams in HSBC or in a matrix financial organization with a similar scaleGood understanding of and experience with emerging data technologies, with track record in delivering standardized global solutions fulfill business and market needsDeep subject matter expertise to lead diverse teams, with strong people leadership, teamwork, gathering information and analyzing, judgment and decision making, communication competenciesStrong understanding of operational effectiveness and strong number driveKeen understanding of products, services and underlying processes to fulfill Strong Commercial Orientation, ability in balancing risks vs. rewards and maximizing the cost effectiveness and profitability for the businessRespectful of different cultures, working with colleagues globallyUnderstanding of cloud computing concepts and their impact on service and change deliveryExperience with service level management, incident management and change managementExperience with IT automation tools and DevSecOps practices and technologies

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $176,700.00 and $265,000.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
