We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role Head of Data Classification and Reconnaissance

Role Purpose:

The Head of Data Classification and Reconnaissance will lead the bank's efforts to protect sensitive data through a consultancy-led approach, ensuring compliance with both HSBC Data Security controls, global data protection regulations and industry best practices. This role requires a customer-focused mindset, resilience, a strong technical background, and an understanding of risk controls for data security in highly regulated environments.

Main Activities:

Build effective technology and process control capability that is continuously re-factoring to meet evolving security and compliance needs.Provide specialist consultancy, working closely with peers and business leads to review, build and implement controls in adlignment with risk-posture, architectural constraints, business strategic direction and industry trends and best practices for new and existing technologies. Investigate and embrace innovation to gain a competitive advantage, thinking differently to achieve the best business outcomes, and thinking ahead to identify and overcome potential issues. Fully leverage automation and platform integration, where possible, to deliver the best possible end user experience and frictionless data protection.Ensure the bank’s data protection policies and practices priorities address the business needs, with a focus on sensitive data, customer privacy and trust.Interpret and adapt to developments and changes in future business requirement and ensure the appropriate reaction and response. Govern risk responsibly, across all regions and business areas, showing integrity whilst promoting and managing relevant monitoring and reporting requirements
