This consists in deploying, leading, and implementing EH&S strategies, policies, plans, procedures for JBV. Key outcome is ensuring the EH&S team has taken all needed EH&S precautions to assure continuous, EH&S reliable & compliant supply chain, research & development activities, and is continuously improving in the field of EHS. + Familiar with the annual company /division goals and aware of how he/she can influence these through his/her performance. + Results achieved through effective leadership of the JBV EH&S team and through effective collaboration / influencing key leadership teams on the JBV EHS team as well as with J&J global EH&S. All their needs/ improvements to be balanced with global/ local context. The EH&S lead decides how to convert these in a lean, results oriented, compliant EHS approach. + Responsible for developing and coordinating site EHS&S infrastructure to help GM & Site Management to ensure compliance with legislative and J&J requirements. + Partner with Site LT to establish and implement site EHS&S strategy and Management Action Plan (MAP) in alignment with the J&J requirements. + Responsible for site EHS&S department including budget (OPEX &CAPEX) + Coach and mentor line management to take ownership of EHS&S. + Ability is to reach outside J&J and represent the JBV EH&S team when meeting with governmental inspectors for the site. **Key Responsibilities** + Shared responsibility with site General Manager for EHS&S performance at the site. Responsibility to provide advice to Site Manager for EHS&S performance at the site. + Partner with local Management to develop and implement a site MAP to address EHS&S program deficiencies and ensure EHS&S regulatory compliance. + Build effective working relationships with staff and key stakeholders including corporate EHS&S function and regulatory authorities. + Develop EHS&S objectives for the site - auditing, analyzing, documenting, reporting on their implementation / effectiveness to management via dashboards, reports & management reviews. + Manage site EHS&S department professional. Set and monitor goals/objectives/assignments, provide adequate coaching, develop and monitor employee development plans, and provide recommendations as part of the succession planning, appraisal, and salary planning process. + Monitor, analyze key EH&S performance indicators for JBV, reset direction where needed. + EH&S Leadership development: + Be engaged in performance and potential evaluation of JBV EH&S professionals. + Challenge/ support/ engage in development plan of JBV EH&S professionals. + Ensure that direct reports with Global Process support responsibility can fulfill their role. + Sponsor and coach, the site EH&S IOSS program leads. + EH&S lead for the JBV site: leading, developing, implementing the EH&S program for JBV, which is J&J largest Make site within the Netherlands also including R&D activities and future (as of 2024/2025) Fill Finish activities. Key outcome is ensuring the site has taken all needed EH&S precautions to assure continuous, EH&S reliable & compliant manufacturing, R&D, & growth, and is continuously improving in the field of EH&S. In this role, she is part of the JBV Site Leadership Team where she represents EH&S and where she assumes the key roles of a Site Leadership team member. + Build effective collaboration and partnership with the different customers within Innovative Medicine Large Molecule/IM LM Platform and support the IM LM EHS SL team to get alignment within improvement initiatives and standardization processes. + Driving Sustainability for JBV site as a key deliverable of the EH&S Team incl. strategy & tactics, upon Global & Innovative Medicine Sustainability strategy and local needs/ inputs. + Act as Prevention officer according Dutch Occupational Health Act, article 13. + Monitor and evaluate EHS&S risks of operations, including change management, ensuring continuous improvement of the EHS&S program to make it leaner and more efficient. + Provides Management with ongoing consultation pertaining to EH&S regulations identifying the impacts of changes to regulations on key business objectives. + Develop and implement EHS training strategy for the site, ensuring key risk and regulatory requirements are addressed for appropriate audiences, including new hires. + Support and facilitate site EHS committees/teams to ensure implementation of the EHS program. + Collaborate with other functions to manage EHS aspects of external manufacturers, suppliers and contractor programs. + Leadership of IOSS Management System. **Qualifications** Education & Experience + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. + EHS&S qualification as Safety Engineer or Safety local EHS expert/ Industry recognized EHS&S qualifications at EHS&S practitioner level). + Lead auditor for EHS&S & Quality. + 4-8 years of EHS&S experience; 12-15 years of experience in leadership & management systems. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: + Technical experience in diverse EHS&S areas including but to air, water, hazardous, medical waste, machine safety, ergonomics, industrial hygiene and chemical handling. Project management skills. Technical/working knowledge of relevant EHS&S legislative requirements. + Management & leadership skills. Competencies/Skills and Abilities + Effective communication skills at all levels within the organization • Willingness to drive continuous improvement in EHS&S system. + Must have minimum of 5 years industrial experience in EHS&S preferably in chemical, pharmaceutical or allied industry. + Significant experience of EHS&S policy and practice preferably gained in a multi/-national, /-disciplinary environment; pragmatic approach to development & delivery of EHS&S solutions. + Able to persuade and influence at all levels within the Site to enhance EHS&S performance • Proven line management experience including setting objectives/targets for the team and performance management. + Previous experience of managing site function budget. + Proven track record in being able to plan, execute and monitor EHS&S projects to timescale and budget and assist in the deployment at the appropriate level/function; displays accountability for performance at all times. + Experience of working with/deployment of Mgmt. systems such as ISO14001, ISO45001, GMP. + Must be a credible EHS&S competent person and seen as a EHS&S leader with willingness to learn/develop skills to be an effective and rounded EHS&S professional. + Strong decision-making skills; able to provide appropriate, clear and concise advice to site, hands on mentality with clear focus on proactively identifying upcoming hazard& risks, trends and driving safety standards, Risk & gap assessments. + Maintain high degree of confidentiality and professional integrity at all times. Computer Skills: + Proficient in MS Office software programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. + J&J Worldwide EHS&S data reporting and tracking systems. + Internet, intranet and database tools (int./ext.) as needed to support the EHS&S function. Other Requirements: + Location of Role: Leiden/NL. + Language Requirements: Dutch and English. + Travel Requirements: 85% site based / some travel within EMEA or international.
