Head of Facilities Management

With a new contract commencing in early 2025, We currently have an opportunity for a Head of Facilities Maintenance to join our team. This role is dedicated to leading the national team delivering seamless, compliant, and safe facility management services across a range of government-based client sites, driving strategic efficiencies and ensuring facilities remain secure, scalable, and fit for purpose.

 

What you’ll do

The role has a broad remit, with key responsibilities outlined below:

Lead and manage a national Facilities Management (FM) team, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, scalability of services, and minimal disruption to daily operations across all facilities. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Facilities Maintenance and Asset Management Plans, ensuring preventive and reactive maintenance aligns with contractual and statutory requirements. Drive strategic efficiencies in FM service delivery by overseeing waste management, sustainability initiatives, and adherence to environmental principles specific to each facility. Ensure consistent delivery of Hard and Soft FM services, including asset lifecycle management, high-traffic area cleaning, and the use of technology systems for quality assurance and reporting. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, team collaboration, and adherence to Zero Harm principles, while building strong stakeholder relationships with the Department of Home Affairs and subcontractors.

What you’ll bring

Due to the nature of the work, you must be an Australian Citizen to be considered for this opportunity and willing to be sponsored for government security and employment clearancesTertiary qualifications in Facilities Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent trade experience with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.Extensive experience in leading multi-site FM operations, including compliance with client, industry, and statutory standards.Strong knowledge of OH&S regulations, environmental standards, and the Building Code of Australia, with the ability to develop and maintain quality management systems.Proven ability to manage geographically dispersed teams, ensuring high performance in secure and regulated environments.Advanced technical and communication skills, including interpreting technical drawings, using Microsoft Office products, and managing stakeholder relationships effectively.
