Role: Head of Finance and Procurement

Location: Jersey

Job Summary:

Head of Finance and Procurement is responsible for overall operational management of the PwC’s financial activities. This role involves overseeing financial operations ensuring efficient day-to-day running of the finance department, supporting business operations through effective financial management, ensuring compliance with regulations and providing leadership to the finance team. The role has managers reporting to them covering the following functions:

Financial Risk & Reporting

Finance Business Partnering

Internal Firm’s Tax

Payroll

Procurement, Business Services & Projects

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations

Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Oversee the implementation of financial strategies, policies, and procedures.

Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes and those monitoring financial performance against budgets and forecasts.

Ensure efficient and effective cash flow management, including cash forecasting, working capital management, and liquidity monitoring.

Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy.

Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Risk Management:

● Oversee the:

● Ensure processes are in place for compliance with financial laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Team Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and procurement teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Set performance objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide feedback and coaching.

Promote effective collaboration and communication within the finance team and with other departments.

Build and maintain appropriate PwC Network relationships in particular those in PwC UK Finance.

Supporting Strategic Initiatives:

● Support the Finance Director in:

strategic planning and decision-making processes.

executing finance and cross-functional projects and initiatives to drive operational improvements and support business growth.

providing financial and procurement insights to support strategic initiatives and business development efforts

reporting to the firm’s leadership

staying updated on best practices and industry trends, implementing relevant changes to improve financial operations.

Qualifications & Certifications:

Qualified accountant with recognised accounting body.

Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in finance and procurement roles, with at least 5 years in a management position.

Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.

In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.

Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of building and developing high-performing teams.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

High level of integrity and commitment to ethical practices.

Travel Requirements:

You will be required to make short trips from time to time to the firm’s office in Guernsey and possibly also the UK Firm’s offices in London.
