Job Summary and Reporting Relationship: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead the SOX Control and Life Accounting Policy Compliance efforts as the Head of Financial Compliance for International Life. This role will be primarily responsible for:

Leading development and execution of the overall strategy, implementation, and compliance of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance programs at both local operation and Global Office (GO) level; and Developing, implementing, and monitoring the compliance with International Life and Corporate accounting & reporting policies and the related accounting procedures.

The individual will play a critical role in enhancing our internal controls over financial reporting, and ensuring adherence to the established accounting & reporting policies. This role will closely collaborate with local and GO Controllership & Actuarial team and Corporate Accounting & Finance, as well as other key stakeholders.  The Head of Financial Compliance will report to the Global Financial Reporting Controller of International Life.

Primary Responsibilities:   

SOX Compliance Develop and execute a comprehensive SOX compliance strategy aligned with Segment and Corporate goals and requirements Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance and documentation of the Segment and Corporate’s internal control framework to ensure the effectiveness of controls over financial reporting Foster strong working relationships with key stakeholders at local, GO and Corporate level, including Controllership, Actuarial valuation, Operations, IT and internal/external auditors, to promote a culture of compliance Develop and implement training programs to enhance awareness of SOX compliance and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement throughout the Segment Accounting Policy Compliance Create, review, and update Chubb Life specific accounting & reporting policies to ensure alignment with applicable Corporate policies and applicable accounting standards under US GAAP Regularly review significant financial transactions and processes to ensure compliance with established accounting policies Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across Life Segment and Corporate finance function to ensure alignment and support for compliance initiatives Work with local markets to ensure accounting practices are well documented and in compliance with Segment and Corporate policies Serve as the main point of contact for internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries related to accounting policy compliance Communicate accounting policies to relevant stakeholders and provide training to finance staff and other departments on compliance procedures Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree in related filed or relevant certification (e.g., CPA, CIA) is preferred but not requiredMinimum 12 years of progressive finance management experience in internal/external audit or accounting policy compliance, with a focus on SOX control and US GAAP accounting policy compliance for life insurance businessInternational insurance operation and public accounting experience are also preferred, but not requiredStrong interpersonal skills to include a collaborative, “team player” style. Included is the ability to relate to, and communicate effectively with, all members of the organization within a demanding professional environment and matrix organizational structureFlexibility to work with international teams on different times zones, specifically APAC region, and ability to work toward tight deadlines during reporting period,Effective management of multiple competing priorities is essential, as well as a strong attention to detailProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required

The pay range for the role is $125,000 to $214,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors.
