Responsible for leading development and implementation of MediCard’s technology strategies supporting both transformation agenda and delivery of business results. The Head of IT plays a key role in shaping MediCard’s technological direction, driving innovation, and ensuring technology initiatives align with business objectives.The primary responsibilities include innovation and research, technical leadership, application development and support, infrastructure and technology operations management, cybersecurity and compliance, budgeting and resource allocation, strategic planning and execution, and communication and stakeholder engagement.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Communicating technical strategies, challenges, and achievements, translating complex technical concepts into understandable language for non-technical audiences and senior internal and external stakeholders. This is crucial to align technology initiatives with overall business objectives and gain the support of key decision-makers.2. Collaborating with Division / functional heads to ensure that technology strategies align with overall business objectives. This involves defining and refining IT roadmap and prioritization of initiatives to support MediCard’s transformation agenda and business requirements.3. Evaluating and implementing scalable architectural designs. This responsibility involves assessing the technology infrastructure of MediCard and designing solutions that can adapt to current and future business needs. 4. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry / AIAPH / Group standards to safeguard sensitive information by implementing data protection measures such as access controls, regular audits, and employee training on data security best practices.5. Managing technology budgets and resource allocation to maximize the impact of technology solutions while staying within budget constraints, including monitoring of expenses throughout project lifecycles.6. Leading technical teams through agile development methodologies, enabling teams to adapt quickly to changes and deliver high value to customers efficiently. The Head of IT leads in promoting open communication among team members, breaking down silos between functions / departments, and encouraging knowledge sharing, which leads to increased productivity and better outcomes for projects.7. Monitoring system performance and reliability, continuously tracking key metrics to ensure overall health of technology infrastructure and to identify any potential issues before they escalate into major problems. This helps minimize downtime and ensures that the technology infrastructure runs smoothly.8.
