Head of Infrastructure, Networks, Cyber Security

Reports to: Director of Technology

Direct Reports: Lead Infrastructure Analyst, Infrastructure Analysts, Junior Infrastructure Analyst

Key Relationships: Head of Digital Engineering, Directors of Department, Business System Specialists, 3rd party vendors

Location: Piccadilly

 

Role Purpose:

To provide leadership and direction to this growing part of the business. With significant experience in senior management and technology, married with great people skills you will be expert in relationship building as well as prioritising the needs of your team. The role will establish the team as subject matter experts in their field and trusted advisors to the business. Your experience will drive efficient management of the growing demands of this team from the business, alongside maintaining stability for our core systems. A large part of this role will involve relationship management with key stakeholders within the business, to grow and continually manage the serviced delivered by your teams for Cyber Security, Networks and Infrastructure. You will own delivery against the strategy ensuring that this business continues to make joy for all its people, customers and communities. This role is a trusted advisor as part of the Technology leadership team and is critical to leading the development of our security, infrastructure and networks environments. Due to the nature of our business, there may be some out of hours working required.

 

Responsibilities:

Operational

Working with the Director of Technology and Architect to define, create and maintain the technology strategy in conjunction with business stakeholders, ensuring resilience and safeguarding of its assets for Fortnum & Mason's cyber security, networks and infrastructure Maintain the appropriate security framework for Fortnum's (e.g., NIST: Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, Recover), ensuring regular audits and enhancements and that these standards are woven into each part of our network and infrastructure estate Maintain risk management for infrastructure & cyber security as part of the wider Risk Management Team Manage cyber incident response plans and scenario testing Ensure respectable process in place to assess security of new proposed technology solutions and partners Be accountable for business continuity & disaster recovery in technology Manage the operational budget effectively for the cyber security, networks and infrastructure team, effectively owning the licencing for core service components in line with strategic growth and development Be engaged in the inception stages through to delivery stage of projects, providing insights into resource and technology requirements Ensure support and continuous improvement is a priority  Balance the support and project demands on the team effectively and efficiently Embrace new technologies and strategies to take F&M to the next level of delivery for customers Ensure team documentation is completed and maintained to the appropriate standard Support and escalation point for the business and Team

People & Collaboration

Lead the team setting clear priorities and standards for governance, documentation Provide regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports, identifying any support and/or development and giving guidance to team Build relationships with key stakeholders across the business - be the go to person when it comes to cyber security, networks and infrastructure team Support third parties working for or in conjunction with out overall requirements, ensuring that they meet our standards and ways of working Hold regular quarterly service reviews with third party suppliers to drive value and enhance service Be the subject matter expert on contract reviews with procurement and legal and key third party vendors in the cyber security, networking and infrastructure space Keep up to date with new ways of working and emerging trends within the industry and technology stack, actively learning and ensuring that new applications and platforms are explored and understood Collaborate with each area of the technology teams to ensure your team is accessible Be the point of escalation for your team - manage expectations of the business and team As part of the wider Technology Leadership Team act as an ambassador for the technology function within the wider business to explain the role of the cyber security, networks and infrastructure team.

Previous Experience (including qualifications where relevant)

Proven experience of working in a leadership role in the IT Industry, preferably within Retail environment Experience hiring and developing high performing teams Demonstrable expertise in the leading of successful cyber security, networking and infrastructure teams, enhancing the customer experience, supporting, and developing capability across all retail channels Experience must include significant exposure to Microsoft Azure, M365, Cisco Meraki, D365, VEEAM Ability to manage and align multiple internal and external parties, potentially with varying objectives Ability to act as a single point of contact for senior business stakeholders Proven experience of leading cyber security, networks and infrastructure A strong understanding of business finance and how the appropriate application of technology directly influences overall company performance.

Excellent technical knowledge is essential of the below systems and processes:

Microsoft AAD admin, Azure, InTune, AutoPilot, MAM, M365, D365 Cisco Meraki networking & firewalls VEEAM backup solutions NIST security framework GDPR, DSAR & Right of Erasure requests ITIL Certified TOGAF trained with a demonstrable knowledge of solution design

Desirable:

Experience in multi-channel retail/hospitality environments Makes sense of complex situations and provides clear communication, direction and owns actions to completion Appreciation of the importance of technical documentation
