Job Description

The Senior Director, Head of Europe Interchange Strategy and Development is responsible for leading and developing interchange fee strategies designed to optimise participation in the Visa network by increasing product issuance and broadening merchant acceptance of electronic payments across the Europe region. The position requires close collaboration with regional country management, finance, legal, government engagement, product, and client teams.

The role sits within the Pricing and Interchange function within Visa and although focused on interchange fees, will cover development of specific pricing and interchange strategies. The role will report directly to the Vice President of Europe Pricing & Interchange in Visa’s Finance team.

In this role, you are expected to:

Lead the development of interchange fee strategies for Europe region considering value-provided, differentiation of products and services, sustainability, and the competitive environmentCollaborate with functional groups in evaluating and optimizing interchange for Europe region, including forecasting and business case, rate structure design, stakeholder impact assessment, implementation considerations, and key partner communicationDrive the best resolutions possible on competition and regulatory matters related to interchange fees to help achieve a balanced outcome that enables growth of the four-party model and continued digitizationLead key projects and play a critical role in key strategic projects which take into account both pricing and interchange economics for new flows, Visa Direct and Visa A2A across Europe.Act as a trusted advisor, partnering with functions including Legal, Finance, Risk, Sales, Client Services and Product.Educate clients and internal stakeholders on the key role that interchange plays and Visa’s interchange strategyPartner with the team responsible for interchange system development work and management of operational & compliance issues related to interchangeContribute to the regional, country and product strategies to support Visa’s corporate strategies and prioritiesMake decisions with limited guidance, usually within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations to senior management while supporting syndication with stakeholders across the organization.Manage a team of business professionals supporting these responsibilities.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

We are looking for an individual who brings breadth of experience, a curiosity about payments, is results-driven and client-focused. As a candidate you should have:
• Experience developing and/or negotiating pricing constructs
• Experience managing complex financial models and analytics to support recommendations
• Experience developing and delivering complex strategic plans
• Experienced, results-oriented leader with a proven track record and the ability to work with and influence multiple stakeholders
• Thorough understanding of electronic payment system business, value flows, and competitive dynamics would be an advantage
• Ability to develop internal and external networks to identify areas of opportunity and build partnerships in executing against corporate goals
• Strong personal presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages at the executive level, internal and external
• Strong collaboration skills across markets, functions and levels
• Demonstrated commitment to growing, developing and leading diverse teams
• Commitment to continuous learning
