Job Title: Head of IT Business Partner for MBJ 
Report to: Japan IT Country Head 

Direct reports: 2

 

Key Responsibilities:

Represent our MBJ (Biopharma business sector) IT in the country; serve as a member of the Japan Leadership Team for Biopharma and act as the counterpart to the country Managing Director of MBJ. 

Manage the IT Business Partner team for MBJ, including two technical subordinates: Application Specialist and Business Architect. 

Orchestrate all relevant IT topics, identify opportunities, and share best practices across countries. 

Manage the IT Project Portfolio, demands, and relationships with the business. 

Plan, manage, and execute the IT portfolio for MBJ. 

Proactively assess demands against global strategies and IT standards, considering local go-to-market approaches. 

Act as a business subject matter expert and technology advisor for CRM and analytics platforms, such as VEEVA, SFDC, and Qlik. 

Specify business requirements (User Requirement Specification), including scoping and supporting the development of business cases (NPV calculation); translate these into Functional Requirements Specification (FRS) for deployment. 

Manage projects, studies, and pilots. 

Lead business change management for IT-related initiatives. 

Conduct financial planning and budgeting for the area of responsibility. 

Plan capacity for required resources to deliver on the portfolio as part of the planning process. 

Conduct service reviews with the business and serve as an escalation point. 

 

Candidate Qualifications:

Skills: 

Familiarity with the Japan commercial pharmaceutical market.  

Strong communication skills at all organizational levels, both technical and non-technical to be able to drive decisions quickly. 

Working knowledge of Veeva CRM system, and general understanding of how it works. 

Good knowledge and experience with AWS cloud environments (typical services, glue, athena, lambda, s3, redshift, etc). 

Understanding of ETL processes and how to set them up. 

Able to work in agile methodology 

Player: is able to jump into technical projects without the need to involve a vendor at all times 

Demonstrated ability to reduce operational costs 

Management skills for both local and global IT vendors (Required). 

Experience:

Experience in the Japanese pharmaceutical industry (Japanese Pharma industry project experience in consulting or IT vendor roles will also be considered). 

Leadership experience in an international and diversified organization, managing technical team.  

Experience in multi-channel marketing within the Japan pharmaceutical market.  

Project management experience involving different stakeholders across geographies.  

Certification: 

Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science. 

Language: 

Clear communication in English and Japanese (Required)
