Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a motivated and driven Head of Legal - ANZ to join our team. You will lead an exceptional team and work closely with regional and global teams on legal and compliance matters. Your expertise will ensure flawless execution of our business strategies.
Key Responsibilities:Responsible for all legal and compliance matters in ANZ, including commercial, competition, corporate, employment, governance, IP, litigation, anti-bribery, fraud and regulatory, products liability, and data privacy.Partner with the ANZ leadership team and regional/global teams to handle commercial contracts and proposals covering the full spectrum of business issues in ANZ.Collaborate with regional and global teams to develop, implement, and maintain a compliance program that balances company philosophy with local laws and culture; provide associated legal advice.Interact with business groups and divisions operating in ANZ on various issues, including promotional practices and product liabilities.Develop collaborative and positive relationships internally and with third-party organizations, including outside counsels.Build a strong team and develop an annual operating plan for ANZ, including staffing plans and budget; monitor and review budget spending periodically.Validated ability to develop collaborative and positive relationships both internally and within third party organizations, including outside counsels.Building a strong team.Developing and implementing an annual operating plan for ANZ including staffing plans and budget. Monitor and review budget spending on a periodic basis.Proven success working within matrix organizations.Ability to run time and priorities including balancing multiple assignments.Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:Bachelor of Law degree from a recognized university/law school.12+ years of qualification as a lawyer in Australia.Experience representing healthcare/life science or other regulated-sector companies within a multinational company in-house legal department and/or an international law firm.Proven experience working with major corporations and adopting various legal approaches.Excellent business sense, good judgment, and strong influencing skills.Ability to develop practical processes/approaches and drive solutions to completion.Experience in team building and management, strong communication skills, and organizational change skills.Organizational savvy to navigate through a matrix organization.Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.Proficient in spoken and written English.Travel is estimated at less than 20%.BenefitsWe offer competitive remuneration, annual incentive plan bonus, healthcare, and a range of employee benefits.
