Position Overview:
The Head of Manufacturing Operations is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the entire manufacturing process, ensuring production efficiency, quality, and safety. This role involves strategic planning, budget management, continuous improvement initiatives, and leading a team of managers to meet both short- and long-term production goals. The individual will collaborate with other departments, implement best practices, and drive innovation to optimize manufacturing operations. This position plays a pivotal role in driving the company’s manufacturing operations to meet production goals, enhance efficiency, and ensure product quality and safety at every stage of the process.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Leadership & Team Management: Lead and develop a team of managers, supervisors, and operational staff. Provide strategic direction and motivate team members to achieve operational excellence. Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Manufacturing Strategy & Operations: Develop and execute manufacturing strategies that align with company goals and objectives. Oversee the end-to-end production process from planning and scheduling to production and shipping. Ensure efficient use of resources (labor, materials, equipment) to maximize productivity and minimize costs. Process Improvement & Optimization: Identify and implement best practices to optimize production processes, reduce waste, and improve throughput. Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, Six Sigma, and other quality improvement methodologies. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions when needed. Quality Control & Compliance: Ensure that all manufacturing activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Maintain and improve product quality by overseeing quality control processes and systems. Manage audits and inspections and ensure the organization is in compliance with relevant certifications (e.g., ISO, OSHA). Budgeting & Cost Management: Develop and manage the annual manufacturing operations budget. Monitor production costs, forecast future expenses, and implement cost-saving initiatives. Collaborate with finance to ensure the manufacturing operation meets financial targets. Supply Chain & Inventory Management: Work closely with the supply chain department to ensure the timely procurement of raw materials. Optimize inventory management practices to reduce downtime and excess stock. Technology & Innovation: Stay current with new manufacturing technologies, automation trends, and industry advancements. Drive the adoption of new technologies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs. Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE): Ensure adherence to workplace safety standards and a safe working environment. Lead HSE initiatives and maintain strict compliance with environmental regulations. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Project Management, Engineering, and Strategic Procurement teams to align on customer needs. Partner with the Bid Management to ensure alignment between production schedules and customer demand. Reporting & Communication: Regularly report on manufacturing performance, challenges, and successes to Business Unit head and stakeholders. Prepare and deliver presentations on key metrics, project statuses, and strategic initiatives.To thrive in this role, you have:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field (Master’s preferred). 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement practices. Proven ability to manage large teams and cross-functional collaboration. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Experience with budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost management. Familiarity with ERP systems and other manufacturing software.We would be impressed if you had:
Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies. Experience with automation and advanced manufacturing technologies. Strong understanding of supply chain management principles.Working Conditions:

The base salary range for this position in Alpharetta, GA is $146,400 - $172,200 and the annual incentive target is 15% of the base salary. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
