Head of Mixologist

We are looking for an Head of Mixologist to join our pre-opening team at Andaz Lisbon.

Expected to open inMid-End 2025, Andaz Lisbon will offer guests an exciting new luxury lifestyle hotel in the Portuguese capital – and it will represent a key milestone in Hyatt’s continued brand growth in Southern Europe. Andaz Lisbon is set to become the second Hyatt-branded hotel in Lisbon.Located in the center of Lisbon’s bustling Baixa district and situated along the main pedestrian road, Rua Augusta, the hotel will be comprised of five separate buildings, including the former offices of one of the major banks in Portugal, Banco Português de Investimento (BPI). This central building of the hotel will offer 170 guestrooms, with the surrounding four satellite buildings of the hotel offering guests various private suites to choose from. This unique Urban Resort in the city center will allow guests to fully embrace the locale and experience authentic Lisbon.


The Head Mixologist will lead the hotel’s mixology team, ensuring that the beverage program reflects the luxury lifestyle and high standards of the hotel. They will be responsible for curating innovative, signature cocktails, training staff, maintaining an exceptional guest experience, and overseeing the bar’s day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for craft cocktails, fine spirits, and exceptional guest service.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership Staff Management:Lead, mentor, and train the bartending and mixology team to consistently deliver exceptional service.Ensure team members are knowledgeable about cocktail recipes, techniques, and luxury product offerings.Monitor and maintain performance standards, providing coaching and development opportunities to staff.Foster a positive and dynamic team culture, emphasizing collaboration and creativity.Beverage Program Development:Curate, innovate, and update the cocktail menu to reflect current trends, guest preferences, and seasonal ingredients, while aligning with the hotel’s brand and lifestyle.Create signature cocktails that enhance the hotel's image and offer guests a unique experience.Maintain a balanced and diverse beverage menu, incorporating fine spirits, wine pairings, and non-alcoholic options.Collaborate with culinary teams to design beverage pairings for food offerings.Guest Experience:Ensure that every guest has an outstanding and memorable experience in the bar, lounge, or other hotel dining areas.Engage with guests to understand their preferences and provide personalized drink recommendations.Address and resolve any guest complaints or issues with professionalism and care.Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming bar environment for guests and staff.Operational Excellence:Oversee inventory management, ensuring an adequate supply of premium spirits, mixers, garnishes, and other bar essentials.Implement and maintain strict stock controls to minimize waste and maximize profitability.Monitor and manage ordering, delivery, and storage of beverages.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.Collaborate with the Director of Food Beverage on budget planning and cost control measures.Marketing Brand Representation:Represent the hotel’s brand through exceptional beverage service and creative presentations.Participate in the planning and execution of promotional events, tastings, and special occasions.Contribute to social media and marketing initiatives to showcase the bar’s unique offerings and attract new clientele.
