Role Description

This is a key role that helps to manage and deliver the pension propositional design for our customers, providing expertise and advice under the direction of the FNZ Senior Leadership Team. The focus is delivering high quality products and services to our clients.

The Head of Pensions will represent FNZ in all pension product related matters, with a clear focus on delivering greater value and assurance to the member base alongside strengthening the FNZ success in the market to date.

The Primary Responsibilities Include:

Direct, develop and own the pension proposition strategy for Securities Limited to ensure it is scalable and profitable.Lead commercial discussions in relation to the pension proposition for Securities Limited in collaboration with relevant Senior Leadership Team (SLT) stakeholders.Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and deliver propositional enhancementsProvide propositional assistance & guidance to our customers, working alongside customers to develop the ongoing proposition roadmapIdentifying future FNZ roadmap items in line with customer needs and market trends.Increasing FNZ market share by working closely with the FNZ sales and strategic relationship teams to develop future sales strategies for new and existing customers.Provide clear and effective communications to the SLT to facilitate effective oversight and decision making, including in relation to the strategic plan.Drive the delivery of FNZ commercial objectives in line with the Board approved strategy, budget and risk appetite for the Securities Limited pension proposition.Representing FNZ in the UK market with existing customers, prospects, market participants, service providers and regulators.Develop strategic relationships with existing clients, that deliver commercial and contractual value and mitigate risk.Act as the specialist pensions subject matter expert to ensure products remain competitive and continue to meet regulatory, TCF, legal, business and customer requirements.

Specific Role Responsibilities:

Strategy

Development and delivery of the pension proposition strategy in line with the FNZ Board appetite.Oversight and responsibility of products (current scope of SIPP, ISA and GIA)Supporting the SIPP trustees in managing the daily strategic objectives of the SIPP product communicating and its reporting to SIPP trust membersDevelop improvements to the products and services that enhances the member and corporate client experienceMeeting client/IFA/Investment Manager, should they visit the office for clarification of product services or resolving problems.Participate and facilitate in the sales process to ensure appropriate support on product knowledge can be given to proposition staff and prospective clients.Manage senior relationships across the business, including with other FZN entities, ensuring collaborative engagement and partnering to achieve the best results and protection for clients and the business.Dealing with partners, SIPP Trustees, banks, investment companies and stockbrokers, in all matters of SIPP products and investmentsChallenge and contribute to the development of short, medium and long-term strategies (including action plans and targets) for the operational risk functionManage the relationship with external stakeholders in relation to Operational Risk issues, including clients, custodians, consultants, potential clients, third parties, regulators and non-executive directorsTake ownership of the internal stakeholders and positively manage the relationships to create a positive, collaborative and engaged relationship.

Commercial Oversight

Ensuring clients are managed to their contracts and staff are aware of FNZ’s obligations – contract compliance.Using client knowledge to encourage enhancements and positive changeDrive commercial focus both internally and with clients

Process

Dealing with all matters relating to the day-to-day general administration and operation of the SIPP and other products.Manage MSAs with clients and communicate service incidents where necessary. Work with partners to resolve problems. Oversee the delivery if KPIs/KRIs for the productDealing with complex Pension technical queries on the products that may require Compliance, legal opinion and ensures a consistent proposition for the product.Support the business in continuous improvement and throughout any change programs across all functions, where products are impactedOversee the maintenance of T&C, and product particulars. Ensure Illustrations are accurate and appropriate for SIPP members and in line with regulatory requirements.Escalate to the Managing Director of Client Management and Business Development operational issues and take responsibility to develop and deliver solutions to those issues.

Governance

Ensuring all policies, processes and procedures are managed and maintained and regularly reviewed.Design and provide relevant and timely reporting to Boards and Committees as required.To ensure that FNZ Securities Limited clients are driving the right behaviours, as outlined in the FCA handbook, to mitigate risk to the businessAttend regular client senior forums and drive a positive and collaborative relationship with FNZ Securities Limited clients

Experience Required:

Extensive experience of Pension Products within the UK Wealth Management industry.Knowledge of the UK financial services and regulatory framework including current Pension regulationsIn depth knowledge of different types of Pension and ISA products, and historical aspects of Pension and ISA regulation and productsExtensive experience in wealth management and the markets in which FNZ and our customers operate.Experience of working in a regulatory environment and an understanding of the regional regulatory market that applies.Experience in a delivery / consulting environment in the financial services / wealth market.Be able to evidence establishing an environment of continuous improvement and capability development.Confident, and able to take initiative given client– and delivery-focused environment.Independent, self-directing and delivery focused working style.Superior analytical thinking.Commercially aware and focused.Excellent team communication skills, confident in dealing with internal and external clients.Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
