Supply Partner Development (SPD) is part of Resilient Supply Network & Project Management, a global organization within Volvo Group Purchasing with holistic responsibility over the Product Project portfolio, Volume & Supply Capacity Planning, Supply Partner Development (SPD) and Crisis and Risk Management. We deliver customer value via end-to-end product evolution ownership & resilient supply network, enabling the best Performance & Customer Success outcomes while fully coordinating with Volvo Group Technology, Volvo Group Operations and Volvo Brands within an efficient governance structure.

Supply Partner Development (SPD) team develops high-performing supply partners to secure sustainable performance to serve Volvo customers.

SPD Europe being the Strategic steering line for all SPD purchasing activities within Volvo Group Purchasing, we organize a strong collaboration within SPD purchasing teams spread across different sites/regions, and we are also the operational line responsible for SPD Europe business all along specific process steps and areas.

What are your new challenges and responsibilities?

As head of SPD  in charge of Powertrain, Fossil-free Materials (PFM) scope, you will

Lead a team of SPD engineers whose primary mission is to develop performance, assess and secure capacity at supply partners Ensure up-to-date knowledge of installed capacity at supply partners within your scope, and, when required, engage team members in capacity management activities  Provide team expertise to the buyers’ community to identify and capture improvement opportunities at supply partners, using a lean manufacturing approach  Provide team expertise in support of production to identify low-performing supply partners and contain, analyze root causes and improve the situation on site– this includes the use of all lean tools Drive and develop problem-solving techniques   Drive supply partner operational excellence Travel to and represent Volvo Group Purchasing at supply partners Recruit and manage team development 

You will be a member of the Supply Partner Development Leadership team and actively contribute to the development of the department and the SPD strategic line. You will report to the Head of Supply Partner Development.

To join us we see that you have: A University degree in engineering or business management or supply chain management  Minimum 5 years of supply chain and/or production and or lean/operational excellence experience Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership position with direct reports in production or purchasing Preferably experience from the automotive or heavy commercial truck industry in quality, production, supply chain, manufacturing engineering, supplier development Strong cost management skills/experiences  Strong problem-solving skills/experiences  Excellent skills in communication with verbal and written English and building networks
