We are seeking the Head of Platform Engineering to spearhead the development and deployment of scalable, secure, and innovative platforms for software development. This critical role involves driving the technological strategy and integrating advanced solutions in our software development process. .You will be responsible for  shaping  and advancing our software development tools tack, processes and measurements across Allianz Technology and implement globally our harmonization strategy by formulating long term vision and clear implementation roadmap to implement it across Allianz Technology.

What will make you succeed in this position?

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. Proven track record in implementation of software development engineering, implementation of software development tools, platforms and processes. Knowledge of state-of-the-art development toolstack and practices. Experience in rollout of global projects, especially in the area of software engineering. Profund knowledge of development metrics allowing to benchmark both quality and maturity allowing to improve the performance and productivity. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

 

Your mission in the role will be:

Develop and execute the platform engineering strategy in alignment with Allianz Technology’s overall business goals. Define long-term strategy to develop developer platform ecosystem and continuously improve the efficiency of the development. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of software development process, quality of code, maturity of processes.   Define implementation roadmap targeting implementation of all development platforms, planning necessary convergence from legacy tools. Standardize the developer tool stack, remove redundancies, optimize the usage and cost of development tools, ensurance adherence to Allianz policies and compliance requirements. Manage the team running ~30 critical development platforms services (e.g. BuildOn and above). Formulate platform engineering community across major development teams to foster transition to the target landscape, drive best practice sharing and adoption of SecDevOps standards, Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team. Work closely with the security team to conduct regular security assessments and audits. Work closely with the Enterprise Architecture team to apply the new innovative initiatives to continuous evolve the platform( e.g. GenAI in SDLC) Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior management, to provide updates and gather feedback.
