We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Head of Portfolio Management.
Principal responsibilities
Business partner to HSBC’s local Business Units for new business growth, inforce optimization; sharpen underwriting capability and increase underwriting capacity for Ultra/High Net Worth businessMonitor financial, behavioural and risk profile of the inforce portfolio; provide regular insights to managementAnalyze portfolio experience at a sufficiently granular level and execute on recommendations to improve company’s financial and risk profile, balancing tradeoffs between various stakeholders, including but not limited to recapture and retention programsFully leverage reinsurance as a new business, risk, financial and capital management tool; work collaboratively with actuarial, underwriting, finance and other departmentsOptimize reinsurance efficiency with regular review of reinsurance structure and retention levelParticipate in and utilize external data and third-party services to augment understanding of emerging experience and expectations of future experienceEnsure reinsurance administration is efficient, effective, and comprehensiveNegotiate and conclude deals and structures with reinsurersLead team in creating visualizations for inforce performance metrics, including policyholder behaviour, product feature utilization, and product demographicsLead initiatives and partner with other teams (especially Distribution) throughout the organization to develop strategies and execute on campaigns to optimize inforce experience
