Head of Practice Management, Primary Care

Against that backdrop, we are seeking an accomplished executive to join our team as Head of Practice Management for Humana’s Primary Care Organization (PCO). The PCO, which consists of CenterWell Senior Primary Care and Conviva, is the nation’s largest senior-focused, value-based primary care provider. This is a newly-created shared service role in which you will be directly responsible for optimizing and transforming the operating model that supports PCO’s 15-state network of nearly 350 clinics. As Head of Practice Management, you will set up and operationalize a national Practice Management Center of Excellence, which will work across center operations and shared services while collaborating with the clinical organization. You will own the centralized practice of how clinics operate, including setting and implementing operational standards across all markets. This will include defining and developing key performance indicators to monitor and drive improvement that will impact patient experience, provider experience, and financial performance. You will also own the design and implementation of strategies to improve end-to-end clinic operations (e.g., HIM, RCM, Referrals, Patient Contact Centers, Transportation, Vendor Management, Revenue Cycle Management, Medical Economics/Specialty and Operations training). Organizationally, you will lead a team of roughly 1,500 associates, with four direct reports. A portion of the team is located offshore. We are flexible as to location for this position, but a travel requirement of up to 20 percent should be expected. **Additional Key Responsibilities** + Continuously improve clinic operations to include maximizing time providers can spend with patients, improving patient access and experience, and improving associate experience for all clinical staff. + Impact key areas including improved patient access, improved patient satisfaction, increased clinical staff capacity and engagement, and reduced turnover. + Empower market leadership to own solutions that ensure the successful flow and running of a clinic + Set up and deliver scalable operational standards and implementation protocols with the goal of continuously improving end-to-end clinic operations. + Apply strategic leadership and guided influence to ensure ongoing solutions are sustainable operationally, and outcomes align with organizational goals, including supporting delivery of project targets. + Collaborate with and influence Senior and Market Leadership through two-way feedback mechanisms to design and monitor operational KPIs with goals to flag and differentiate data-based insights, themes, and patterns across the PCO and at the Market level. + Ensure data intelligence proactively identifies operational challenges and gaps and serves as a basis for market leadership to create actionable solutions. + Manage department budget to include vendor related expenses in collaboration with finance and procurement. + Enable a model that allows for flexible deployment across markets to support practice management initiatives including streamlining clinic workflow, improving productivity, assessing insourcing and outsourcing strategies, and prioritizing patient care delivery. + Manage relationships with all practice operations vendor partners, including selecting vendors and holding them accountable to high quality work. + Create a patient-centered culture, within the Practice Management team and across all PCO markets and ensure prioritizing delivery of high-quality care and exceptional patient experiences across clinics. + Lead and drive continuous improvement through proactive opportunity identification, initiative prioritization across practice operations, and execution of operational improvement opportunities. + Hire, develop, and retain top talent, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement. **Use your skills to make an impact** **Key Candidate Qualifications** In general terms, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in healthcare management, with a focus on practice management, or clinic operations, in a value-based care model. He/she should have a proven record of success in workflow optimization, managing multiple clinics / healthcare facilities in a multi-state operating footprint, and achieving large-scale operational excellence. This person should also be a strong leader of people with proven success in expanding and elevating the capabilities and performance of a large operations team. In addition to the above, the following professional qualifications and personal attributes are also sought: + Experience overseeing a multi-site EMR implementation. + Strong understanding of budgets and financial responsibilities, including experience managing a P&L. + Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the polish, poise, and executive presence that will ensure effective interaction with senior and executive level audiences. + Highly collaborative mindset and excellent relationship-building skills, including the ability to engage many diverse stakeholders and SMEs and win their co-ownership in the outcome. + Ability to adapt quickly and juggle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, including prioritizing and balancing multiple responsibilities and projects. + An innovative mindset, with a strong drive to challenge the status quo, and demonstrated resilience in managing change and transformation. + Experience with strategic planning, business development, vendor management, and market analysis. + Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field would be a strong preference. **Scheduled Weekly Hours** 40 Application Deadline: 02-27-2025 **About us** About CenterWell Senior Primary Care: CenterWell Senior Primary Care provides proactive, preventive care to seniors, including wellness visits, physical exams, chronic condition management, screenings, minor injury treatment and more.
