Head of Practice Strategy, VP II - State Street Global Advisors

We are seeking a Head of Practice Strategy to lead a consultancy team focused on expanding State Street Global Advisors’ (GA) market presence and advisor engagement by delivering high-impact solutions that enhance practice growth, efficiency, and resilience.

The Practice Management team at GA partners with wealth and financial advisors with strategic insights, business solutions, and investor engagement strategies to drive business optimization, client engagement, and sustainable growth. Through deep collaboration and tailored insights, we work alongside clients to enhance service models, refine practice management, and deliver measurable results. We equip advisors with the tools and guidance to thrive in a changing landscape.  

As part of State Street’s Advisory Solutions and Wealth Intelligence business within the Client Coverage Group (CCG), the Head of Practice Strategy will work across GA, aligning closely with the Head of Investor Strategy to create cohesive advisor and investor engagement strategies. You will collaborate with CCG’s distribution teams supporting Broker-Dealers and Registered Investment Advisors to enhance client loyalty, strengthen brand preference, and elevate GA’s position as the preferred partner for financial intermediaries and employers, alongside the investors under their care. Reporting to the Global Head of Advisory Solutions, this role ensures GA’s wealth initiatives evolve in step with advisory industry needs.
 

As Head of Practice Strategy, you will:

Lead practice strategy as a key function within GA’s Practice Management team, ensuring intermediaries have the insights, tools, and strategies needed to drive long-term business resilience.Act as a trusted partner and strategic resource, embedding tailored insights into advisor firms’ business structures, leadership frameworks, and practice growth strategies.Guide advisors and teams in business continuity and succession strategies, leadership and team transitions, and service model evolution, ensuring they are well-positioned for the future and on track to reach their long-term goals.Collaborate closely with the Head of Investor Strategy to align practice strategies with client acquisition and retention strategies, ensuring a seamless advisory experience that meets both business and client needs.Work alongside CCG distribution teams to embed GA’s wealth-focused initiatives into client engagement strategies, reinforcing GA’s role as a long-term partner to financial intermediaries and employers.Expand GA’s market influence and thought leadership by representing the firm at industry and advisory firm conferences, client roundtables, and executive briefings. This includes serving as a key influencer, delivering high-impact presentations, leading workshops, and facilitating discussions that elevate our firm’s standing as an essential partner to financial professionals.Develop and publish practice strategy content – white papers, articles, and best-practice frameworks – to help financial advisors navigate change and grow their practice.  
 

Success Measures:

Strengthen GA’s Practice Management impact – Expand tailored consultative services, refine strategy execution, and scale business frameworks to enhance advisory practice growth.Enhance integration with CCG’s distribution team – Align wealth initiatives with GA’s intermediary and employer clients, ensuring solutions support firm-wide priorities.Maintain and grow GA’s position as a preferred partner for practice management- Expand market influence and satisfaction, measured through net promoter scores, event participation, consulting engagements, and strategic partnerships.Advance influence and industry presence – Elevate GA’s brand positioning through high-impact content, industry speaking engagements, and research-driven insights.Drive seamless collaboration with the Head of Investor Strategy – Foster synergistic engagement models that integrate advisor business development and investor experience to maximize client success. 

Education & Qualifications:

Minimum 10 years of experience in wealth management, advisory business consulting, or practice management strategy.Proven ability to drive business transformation and implement practice optimization strategies at scale.Exceptional communication and consulting skills with the ability to engage, influence, and partner with wealth management executives and advisory teams seeking new opportunities to grow their practice.Deep expertise in business optimization, advisor development, and enhancing scale and efficiency for financial advisors. Experience working cross-functionally within asset management, wealth management, or intermediary-focused financial services.Public speaking and content development experience, with the ability to represent GA at industry and client events, including leading breakout sessions and contributing as subject matter expert panel participant.Ability to craft compelling narratives that outline clear, actionable steps advisors can take to enhance practice growth and efficiency.Bachelor’s degree required in a related field. Advanced degrees such as MBA, CFA, CFP are preferred but not required.FINRA series 7 and 63 licenses required or obtainable within 6 months.Available for travel regionally as required (35%-40%)High level of integrity and professionalism

Salary Range:

$115,000 - $190,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
