50 South Capital is seeking to add a senior investment professional in their Chicago headquarters to be part of a growing investment team primarily to source, diligence, execute, and monitor private credit fund commitments. This senior individual will contribute to investment decision making across all of 50 South Capital’s funds and strategies, including primaries, secondaries, co-investments and private credit. In addition, this individual will be responsible for assisting in designing new private credit offerings, fundraising efforts, portfolio monitoring and other special projects. The selected candidate will exhibit strong investment analytics as well as strong interpersonal skills and leadership skills. We are seeking candidates with excellent academic achievements, 12+ years of relevant industry experience, and advanced skills in investment analytics, business writing, and presenting.
Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead the private credit team and private credit focused investment offerings
Source and analyze potential investment opportunities across the private credit universe. This includes evaluating track records, strategies and teams.
Communicating thoughts and opinions on firms and companies in a succinct, effective way, including identifying the key strengths and risks for each opportunity, and determining how certain information will be presented.
Participating in meetings with clients and potential investors to discuss Northern Trust credit capabilities and fund solutions.
Participating in the preparation of diligence materials as well as assisting with the creation of investment committee memorandums.
Staying current with the general overall performance of our investments, participating in the creation and presentation of materials for quarterly portfolio reviews.
Partner with credit team to develop, maintain, and proactively cover a targeted list of active and prospective fund managers via pipeline management, primary research, and profile building.
Maintaining an ongoing dialogue and relationship with targeted private credit firms including attendance in update calls, in-person meetings, and annual meetings. The position requires travel.
Representing 50 South Capital in an exemplary fashion to external industry participants in order to develop the Firm’s brand reputation in the market.
Necessary Experience, Education, Knowledge and Skills12+ years working in alternative investments, with focused private credit experience.
Bachelor's degree, with a major in business, finance, accounting, economics or related field (MBA highly preferred).
Deep subject matter expertise across alternative investment strategies with a focus on private credit.
Establish and maintain relationships within the private credit manager community.
Client-facing experience and ability to represent 50 South Capital and Northern Trust Asset Management to the LP, GP and service provider community.
Active listener who can understand clients’ specific needs.
Exceptional collaborator and team-minded professional; driven by integrity and excellence.
Robust communication and presentation skills. Ability to educate and translate complex and/or technical concepts in an understandable manner to a range of audiences.

Salary Range:
$225,000 to $350,000 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
