Head of Public Policy Engagement (Government Relations Executive)

The Head of Public Policy Engagement is part of the Public Affairs function, and reports directly to our Head of Government Relations and Public Policy.

In this role, you will:

Lead Executive Branch Engagement, including with the federal financial regulators on non-supervisory matters.Develop relationships with and interact with officials at the White House, relevant Executive Branch agencies, and the financial services regulators.Ensure Wells Fargo leaders are appropriately engaged, and prepared, for meetings with Executive Branch officials. Lead Public Policy Engagement (PPE) team in assessing federal public policy issues, both regulatory and legislative, impacting all of Wells Fargo’s lines of business.Lead team in undertaking analysis of wide-ranging complex regulatory issues impacting Wells Fargo, in order to develop corporate public policy positions.Lead enterprise federal regulatory comment letter process on regulatory proposals. Collaborate with, and present to, a wide variety of professionals including senior leaders in Public Affairs, Legal, the lines of business, and Trade Groups.  Escalate issues as needed to ensure senior leader awareness and engagement.Provide vision and set direction for PPE team on high impact initiatives to achieve public policy and engagement objectives.Collaborate with peers and experienced leaders to develop complex strategies in the modern political and public policy environment.Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet Public Affairs and overall corporate objectives and strategy.

Required Qualifications:

8+ years of Government Relations, Public Affairs, or Legal experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education4+ years of Management experience

Leadership or management of stakeholders, projects, initiatives, processes to drive desired business outcomes will be considered as well as specific management of a teamProven track record of success in delivering high quality work in a fast paced, dynamic and large, matrixed environment within the banking industryStrong understanding of banking regulationsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and complete a wide range of audiences and levels within the organization and externallyProven experience developing and leading strategic discussions with and influencing senior leaders to generate decisions and actionsA capacity to overcome barriers and make impactful change

Job Expectations:

Travel required (if based outside of DC metro area, travel may be extensive)

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$249,500.00 - $518,300.00
