Siemens Healthineers are looking for a Head of Reagent Manufacturing Operations to join their Healthcare Diagnostics business based at the well-established and modern manufacturing facility in Llanberis, located next to Snowdonia national park. The facility manufactures and distributes reagents for in-vitro diagnostic medical devices used in hospitals worldwide to aid the diagnosis of medical conditions.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the role is a key member of the senior leadership team providing major contribution to the strategic direction of the site. The role demands extensive and demonstratable leadership experience from within a highly regulated environment.
The job holder has functional responsibility for all biological reagent manufacturing, management of production areas and the organization of laboratory and data analysis teams to achieve all product quality and quantity targets. The role is focused on driving continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing organization with particular attention to ‘right first time’, ‘on time delivery’, production ‘cost of goods’ efficiencies and other departmental KPI’s as necessary.
Your Role:
You provide the vision, leadership and organization required to conduct current primary manufacturing operations and develop the capability to meet future needs.You will maximise staff contribution and develop individuals to their full potential by providing effective coaching/mentoring and appraisal throughout the group.You are a key member of the site senior leadership team providing major contribution to the strategic direction of the site.You operate to high standards of GMP and safety ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards applicable to health and safety legislation.You ensure that all staff responsible to you comply, at all times, with company health and safety policies and procedures. To highlight any real or potential health and safety issues to management in a timely manner and assist in actioning their decision.Ensure the business meets agreed targets for product quality, product availability, output, timelines and cost.Create budgets and forecasts to the dates required and control costs within agreed limits.Lead continuous improvement activities within reagent manufacturing and drive a culture of high performance in-line with company values.Work closely with peer group, the Diagnostics organization and the wider Siemens Healthineers organisation to ensure Divisional and site activities are aligned and integrated.Your Expertise:
An experienced senior leader in an operational role, ideally with multi-functional experience.A comprehensive understanding of lean manufacturing processes and best practice.Experience and knowledge of in Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) is desirable.A working knowledge and proven ability to drive continuous improvement.A thorough experience of people/operational management in a technical environment.Demonstrated knowledge of quality systems and manufacturing management techniques.Strong project management skills.BSc or MSc in a relevant science-based degree or equivalent.Our Benefits:
