Job Description

The Automotive group sector comprises technologies for passive safety, brake, chassis, motion and motion control systems. Innovative solutions for assisted and automated driving, display and operating technologies, as well as audio and camera solutions for the vehicle interior, are also part of the portfolio, as is intelligent information and communication technology for the mobility services of fleet operators and commercial vehicle manufacturers. Comprehensive activities relating to connectivity technologies, vehicle electronics and high-performance computers round off the range of products and services.

THE POSITION

Own full responsible for the growth strategy and all sales activities in the North American Aftermarket including deployment to and through the team.

Develop and maintain strategic and cooperative relationship directly with customers and through our sales team and sales agencies.

Provide regular customer feedback, competitor benchmarks, and market needs within the organization to allow adoption of innovative technologies and services for a first to market approach to our customers in North America.

Grow sales volume in existing markets with current customer base and by acquiring new customers as well as identify new markets and channels, develop business plan and new entry strategies.

Represent Continental and the Aftermarket segment at industry shows and customer events.

Organize and lead a diverse, motivated and winning US based team of sales managers, sales operations and technical trainers including but not limited to employee hiring, development, training, and coaching.

Lead the team to achieve budget (Volume, Sales, Growth, EBIT) and other planned targets and KPI´s, by constantly tracking and communicating progress and defining counter measures in case of deviation.

Play an active leadership role in the organization to promote and drive customer centricity.

Cooperate and align closely with SCM, Product Management, Marketing and Controlling.

Report directly to the Head of Automotive Aftermarket, North America and align with the German based global sales director for the Aftermarket.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 7 years sales experience, preferably in the automotive aftermarket OR 14 years of experience in lieu of a degreeExceptional verbal and written communication skills, incl public speaking.Natural ability to connect with people and build long lasting relationships.Solid organization and presentation skills with excellent time management, follow up, decision making, problem resolution, and analytical as well as creative thinking skills.    Strong Microsoft Office skills, such as PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.Must be highly motivated and a self-starter.Valid driver's license with responsible driving recordMust be able and willing to travel 50% - 60%, both domestic and international.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous leadership of field sales (regional and/or sales managers) and experience managing large accounts preferred.
