Head of Statutory Balance Sheet Analytics

Reporting to the Head of Capital Management in Treasury, Head of Statutory Balance Sheet Analytics will lead a small team responsible for capital and free cash flow projections, analysis, and attribution, as well as the support of strategic initiatives that affect capital. This role requires close collaboration with Accounting, Investments, Actuarial, and the Business areas.

Core Responsibilities Include, but are not limited:

Lead the development of capital and free cash flow projections. Evaluate the potential impacts of proposed initiatives and transactions. Lead the capital budgeting and allocation process aimed to optimize new business issuance by commercial business lines.Lead enhancements to the actual-to-expected attribution of statutory balance sheet movements for multiple legal entities reflecting affiliated transactions, in close collaboration with broader Capital Management, Accounting, and Actuarial teams.Utilize insights from the attribution analysis to improve forecasting accuracy and refine capital management strategies.Develop and lead statutory capital optimization initiatives.Monitor reinsurance programSupport communication with external parties such as regulators, rating agencies, and distribution partners on statutory balance sheet management topics.


The base salary range for this position is $170,000 - $205,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree 10 years of experience in Life Insurance sectorExtensive knowledge of US statutory accounting, reserving, and Risk-Based Capital (RBC) regulations, particularly for variable annuitiesProficient in financial analysis, including development of calculation and projection modelsProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for financial modeling and presentation purposes

Preferred Qualifications:

Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designations.Actuarial modeling or valuations experienceAwareness of industry trends and peer practices in balance sheet managementKnowledge of solvency regimes outside of the US, specifically BermudaExperience in New Ways of Working or other agile work environments
