Head of Sustainable Development, ROPU ASKAN
**THE POSITION** The Head of Sustainable Development ROPU ASKAN is responsible for leading and driving the development and implementation of Boehringer Ingelheim's Sustainable Development for Generations (SD4G) strategy and framework across all businesses and functions in ROPU ASKAN, aligned with the global sustainability team. Influence the evolution of the global SD4G strategy while simultaneously translating / localizing it into ROPU ASKAN's pillars and initiatives. Actively collaborate with external partners and key internal leaders across Boehringer Ingelheim to ensure that SD4G is embedded into business operations, strategy and culture. Build and lead a team of dedicated and shared resources in ROPU ASKAN to support the SD4G mission and commitment. Offer input and advice to the CMD and relevant stakeholders in defining strategic direction and operational activities to achieve ROPU ASKAN's priorities on sustainability. **DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES** + Develop, lead and execute ASKAN SD4G program across all pillars and business units, including related SD4G SOPs / policies / initiatives / projects / programs in ROPU ASKAN according to global sustainability programs and guidance within the SD4G Framework. + Drive Stakeholder Management on a global, regional and country level. Interact and influence senior leaders to support SD4G efforts to influence internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate cross-functionally with internal related stakeholders to ensure that sustainability is embedded into the business. + Identify external sustainability trends to positively impact Boehringer Ingelheim. Continually benchmark Boehringer Ingelheim sustainability operations against other external organizations to identify best practice opportunities. + Represent Boehringer Ingelheim in local external sustainability forums. Build and manage external network of related stakeholders (NGOs, Health Facilities, Startups etc). Build and leverage strategic partnerships. Ensure compliance within Boehringer Ingelheim and with third party partners. + Report periodic progresses on SD4G to CMD and ROPU ASKAN ExCom, Corporate Sustainability Teams. Ensure quality, validated and audited input to global reporting (CSRD, Internal Reporting Tools etc). Develop, present and discuss sustainability progresses, challenges and updates during core company regular touch points. + Collaborate closely with Communications / Corporate Affairs to share stories and compelling messages to educate employees in ROPU ASKAN and build awareness of SD4G. Inspire and engage employees to build a culture and making sustainability part of our DNA. + Act as single point of contact for sustainability related financials and resources during budgeting. Ensure close and continuous financial monitoring and oversight of the overall sustainability budget for ROPU ASKAN and report financials regularly. + Lead cross functional ASKAN SD4G Taskforce in ROPU Center and OPUs, play an active role as a member of the global extended SD4G Team. **REQUIREMENTS** + Master’s / Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Science or equivalent, with at least 5 - 8 years of relevant Sustainability work experience. Experience in Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences industry a plus + Proven influencing skills towards senior leaders and relevant stakeholders, including the ability to gain alignment on strategies and driving execution + Strong understanding of Sustainability, Sustainable Development, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Corporate Reputation concepts + Well versed in the healthcare landscape in all countries in ROPU ASKAN + Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills including ability to use internal and external data and metrics to set strategies, develop business cases and inform and influence decision-making as well as in defining lagging / leading indicators to seek out new ways to measure social impacts + Proven ability to think strategically and execute effectively, build strong internal and external relationships and leverage those relationships to influence outcomes + Excellent verbal and written command in English, judgment and problem solving skills + Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration, self-motivation and the ability to work independently **Note to Recruitment Agencies** Boehringer Ingelheim does not accept candidate submissions from recruitment agencies that our company does not have existing contracts with.
