Head of Taiwan Management Team

Key accountabilities

Ensure alignment and cohesion between all sectors/functions represented in Country Management Team (CMT)

Adoption and adherence to compliance mindset in local teams, leading to consistent implementation of corporate and local policies and processes

Chair important organization-wide committees, including safety committee, ethics committee, risk & compliance committee, and labor management committee

Legal representative of ASML Taiwan

Ensure the appropriate handling of all Taiwan company initiatives not directly under the remit of the sectors/ functions

External representation

Government intimacy : Managing government stakeholder relationships, aligning with company interests

Public advocacy : Leading government affairs to shape ASML’s government affairs stance across industry partners and public stakeholders (in alignment with CT leaders)

Ecosystem, membership and industry relations : Managing relations with public stakeholders, performing community engagement activities and participating in industry events

Media representation : Collaborating with Communications, managing relations with media and ensuring consistence of ASML’s messaging across all media channels

Internal cohesion and operations

Country alignment : Leading the Country Management Team, aligning local sectors/ functions and ensuring consistent implementation of global guidance

People organization & culture : Embedding values and culture into country organization, deploying corporate people programs, i.e., ESG, initiating/ supporting local initiatives to improve social cohesion in country

Facilities support : Coordinating the Country Management Team input on local footprint plans (in coordination and alignment with HQ)

Security & risk : Overseeing development of and adherence to central Security Framework (country-specific risks, IT security control)

Compliance mindset

Regulatory compliance : Setting the tone at the top and ensuring compliance is prioritized across the organization including regulatory compliance (e.g., financial, legal, tax, EHS and ESG)

Labor law & works council/ union interaction : Interacting on compliance with  labor laws, interaction with works council and union. Safeguarding the local HR framework of policies, procedures and processes in line with global guidelines in which the sectors can execute HR strategies and activities

Statutory responsibilities : Head of Country Management Team is (one of) the Country Directors/ Officers

Ideal candidate profile - Background

10+ years of senior leadership experience in semiconductor/ industrial/ high tech sector or government relations, with 20+ years of total industry experience

Strong external network in country beyond ASML, exhibiting an in-depth understanding of local peculiarities and cultural sensitivity, and having credibility in a country

Bring gravitas and energy, while leading with low-ego, engagement, collaboration and influence

Ideal candidate profile - Skills

Exceptional communication skills in both English and Mandarin, enabling clear and compelling communication with external (government, institutions, regulators, media, and the general public) and internal (employees, sectors, and BLs leaders) stakeholders

Demonstrated ability to lead with empathy, focus on empowering teams and stakeholders, providing genuine care and consideration for their perspectives to achieve collective success

Exceptional people leadership skills, motivating and leading local teams to achieve business objectives

Ability to wear the ASML hat before the local head and exceptional skills in building internal collaboration

Familiarity with local business laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to compliance requirements

Proven track record of successfully navigating complex landscapes, with experience in engaging with local authorities and politicians, educational institutions, as well as internal stakeholders, w.g. work s council

Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain trusting relationships with key stakeholders, fostering collaboration and long-term partnerships to advance company interests

Clear understanding of market dynamics and trends in the semiconductor industry locally and globally

Demonstrated ability to think strategically, discerning core priorities from side topics
