Role Summary:
As part of our Digital Solutions business unit, the Head of Technical Projects within the Services Team will lead and manage a group responsible for delivering innovative technology trials and initial product deployments. These efforts will support the goals of the Controls & Hardware Products division and contribute to shaping future products and services.
In this role, the Head of Technical Projects:
•    Leads a team of Technical Project Managers working on a dynamic portfolio of customer projects.
•    Collaborates with diverse internal and external stakeholders across various fields and specialties.
•    Ensures the successful delivery of projects while managing budgets, timelines, risks, and resources.
•    Reports progress to executive leadership both internally and externally.
•    Champions technical projects within Digital Solutions and beyond, maximizing outcomes for internal and external stakeholders. Accountabilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
•    Lead a team of Technical Project Managers, providing guidance and oversight to ensure successful project delivery.
•    Assemble and manage multidisciplinary project teams, leveraging internal expertise and addressing knowledge gaps.
•    Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, risk mitigations, and communication strategies.
Project Delivery:
•    Ensure technical projects are delivered according to RES' Technical Project Management Framework and Product Design Guidelines.
•    Keep projects aligned with business objectives, adjusting priorities and mitigating risks as necessary.
•    Oversee ongoing revenue and cost tracking, reporting regularly to leadership to ensure financial and operational alignment.
•    Collaborate with the Product Manager to assess project outcomes and their contribution to the product development roadmap.
Stakeholder Engagement:
•    Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders, including equipment suppliers, service providers, and project partners.
•    Draft and review contracts and collaboration agreements with the support of the legal team.
•    Provide regular updates to executive leadership on project progress and potential issues.
Risk & Issue Management:
•    Proactively identify risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle, implementing measures to address them.
•    Ensure any issues that arise are promptly addressed to keep the project on track.
Collaboration with Product Delivery Teams:
•    Support the Product Delivery Manager in developing clear guidelines for the implementation of approved products at scale.
•    Assist in reviewing each project’s contribution to meeting product development review objectives. Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering Science, Computer Science, Economics, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
•    Proven experience in project management within complex, fast-paced environments that require technical problem-solving skills.
•    Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and track financial metrics while overseeing long-term projects.
•    Strong project management skills, including organizational, communication, and presentation abilities.
•    Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
•    Knowledge of the renewable energy sector (wind, solar, and/or storage), including customer challenges, market trends, and technical issues preferred.
•    Prior experience managing a team of direct reports with multiple simultaneous workstreams. At RES we celebrate difference as we know it makes our company a great place to work.
