We’re actively seeking an outstanding Head of Total Rewards to join our Human Resources team reporting to the Chief People Officer. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.

As the Head of Total Rewards, you’ll move GEICO forward by developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive total rewards strategies that align with the company's business goals and enhance candidate attraction, employee engagement, retention, and satisfaction. This role oversees all aspects of compensation, benefits, and recognition programs and ensures compliance with local and federal regulations.
 

Location:

Hybrid at Chevy Chase, MD or New York, NY office. Other locations being considered.


Responsibilities:

Develop and execute a total rewards strategy that supports GEICO’s goals and principles and enhances our ability to attract, retain, and motivate talent.

Work collaboratively with the business to develop proactive and innovative approaches to ensure our total rewards are competitive, drive business results, and align with our culture.

Lead and develop a team of compensation and benefits professionals, fostering an inclusive and high-performance culture and meeting their career goals and the organization's goals.

Develop and manage the total rewards budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and fulfilling audit requests.

Lead the team through regular benchmarking cycles to analyze and assess market data, industry trends, and best practices to create market competitive reward packages and to identify potential opportunities and gaps.

Review, evaluate, and execute the executive compensation programs (base, bonus, and equity) by collaborating with the CEO, Chief People Officer, and other senior leaders as well as with outside executive compensation consultants. This will ensure the programs are performance driven, market competitive, appropriately leveraged, legally compliant, accurately administered and effectively communicated to associates.

Provide thought leadership to the business on compensation issues including new hire packages, performance recognition, incentive plans, retention, and overall compensation structure. 

Lead the development and management of benefits programs, including health and wellness, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.

Ensure total rewards programs are equitable and inclusive, promoting diversity within the organization.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.

MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

15 + years of experience in total rewards with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role leading teams and developing complex strategic Benefits and Compensation program, including compensation design and executive compensation in a fast paced environment.

Demonstrated experience identifying future trends, challenges, and opportunities, using strategic insights to make decisions that drive an organization’s growth and success.

Deep understanding of compensation and benefits best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Outstanding communication to rally teams and present compelling strategies with the ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Ability to pivot strategies, adjust processes, and mobilize resources effectively to meet evolving business needs, ensuring the organization consistently achieves results and remains competitive and resilient in the face of change.

Broad knowledge of HR Technologies and Tools.

Annual Salary

$238,000.00 - $442,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
