Job Purpose:
As the Head of UW Operational Support – Europe for Japanese Business, Local Marine Underwriting and Local Specialty you will be responsible for overseeing operational processes and systems for these divisions of Tokio Marine Europe, including oversight of key strategic change projects, ensuring delivery on time and on budget.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams ensuring (1) processes are efficient, harmonized, and fit business needs, and (2) policies and processes are seamlessly integrated into the TMHCCI operational infrastructure.
You will lead the planning and the execution of various underwriting initiatives/projects on Japanese Business, Local Marine and Specialty France and deliver the necessary operational workflow.
You will be responsible for all matters data, including data accuracy, the effective use of core systems data, and effective use of data through efficient and user-friendly reporting and collaboration tools.
You will act as the interface between the business and the TMHCC International IT department in managing the business´ underwriting and operational systems.
You will work closely with the members of Underwriting and Business Development team in setting the direction for profitable business expansion and expanding our product and distribution capabilities.
Since TME Japanese Business and UK Japanese Business are operated as a single unit, the above includes the matters of UK Japanese Business domain where necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage Business Analyst Team.
Develop and oversee operational strategies to improve efficiency, performance and scalability across the TME Japanese, Local Marine and French Specialty divisions and aligned with TMHCC/TMHCCI/TME strategy. Ensure optimal use of technology, data and resources and suggest and implement changes where necessary.
Acts as the Business Sponsor for TME Japanese Business., Local Marine and Specialty France divisions within the company´s Product Model, including budget and capacity planning.
Lead, plan and monitor the execution of strategic projects and initiatives and identify and mitigate risks and issues related to delivery
Provide leadership and guidance to the TME Japanese Business , Local Marine and Specialty France Business Analysis team
Bordereau management – ensure effective and reliable data collection on binder facilities and inward reinsurance facilities and act on the underwriting bordereaux upload into GNS
Ensure operational processes and E-folders are compliant with company policies and regulatory requirements
Supervise periodic internal underwriting audits
Support the Chief Underwriting Officer / UW Manager in operational matters and execution
Liaise with functional stakeholders in TME and TMHCCI as required
Act as liaison for the Project Management Office on relevant operational projects for the Japanese Business local Marine and French Specialty division
Foster a culture of continuous improvement ensuring operational agility
Since TME Japanese Business and UK Japanese Business are operated as a single unit, the above includes the matters of UK Japanese Business domain where necessary
Skills and Experience Specification:
Fluent in English. Any other languages will be an asset.
Experience in leading a Business Analyst Team and Product Owner
Experience in business requirements analysis and documentation
Experience in EVT, UAT, bugs and Wave planning and execution
Experience in working with an Agile software methodology and Scrum
Ba or MA degree in Business Administration, Law, Economics or similar relevant field
Good understanding of company´s core business drivers
Familiarity with underwriting processes and underwriting systems
Excellent project management skills and ability to work efficiently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability for capacity building, including development tools, training, coaching and transferring knowledge
