Head of US Direct Lending

The Head of US Direct Lending is a senior position with our Private Credit team.This role is pivotal in establishing and developing our direct lending business in the US market from the ground up, leveraging our strong brand presence in the region and our existing Direct Lending business in UK & Europe.The successful candidate will be responsible for: As our Head of US Direct Lending you will: + Defining the investment strategy for the US direct lending proposition + Building out and leading a team of investment professionals + Working collaboratively with the Sales team to raise capital from global investors, taking joint ownership of capital raising efforts + Leading and executing the assessment and analysis of transactions for presentation to the Investment Committee + Overseeing and managing the US investment portfolio + Promoting the US direct lending proposition internally with our organisation + Building and maintaining relationships with sponsors, advisors and potential borrowers + Liaising with HSBC Bank on certain origination opportunities and execution + Coaching and developing team members For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $236,700.00 and $355,100.00 The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location. Additionally, HSBC offers a wide range of competitive and flexible benefits designed to help you improve your health and well-being, finances, and lifestyle. **Qualifications** You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role: + A minimum of 15 years’ experience gained in financial services, with at least 10 years in private credit, direct lending or related fields + Proven track record of successfully originating and executing direct lending transactions in the USA + In-depth knowledge of credit analysis, deal structuring and portfolio management + Understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks governing lending activities in the US market + Proven ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives + Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels In compliance with applicable laws, HSBC is committed to employing only those who are authorized to work in the U.S. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. as HSBC will not engage in immigration sponsorship for this position.
