Head of US Legal, Regulatory and Group Functions

Global Legal plays an important role in protecting the Group’s reputation by helping to future-proof the organisation through robust legal risk and issue advisory. Responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice to senior management and all global businesses and functions, the team offers a diverse range of legal skills, jurisdictional experience and practice specialisms across all countries and territories in which our businesses operate.
We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our Global Legal team, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

In this role, you will:

Leverage your deep banking experience working at a US regulated bank and bank holding company, which are critical legal entities of a systemically important global bank, to provide expert and professional legal and strategic advice, guidance, and support to ensure that the legal and reputational risks faced by businesses in the US are identified, reported and mitigatedBe a leader and trusted advisor to the businesses and functions in the U.S. and globally on bank and bank holding company regulatory issuesBe a key leader for the company’s regulatory policy advocacy initiatives with U.S. regulators (including banking, financial, securities, and derivatives regulators), collaborating with Legal, Public Affairs, and business and functional partners in the U.S. and globallyPartner cross functionally assess risk and to solve complex regulatory issuesLead and manage an inclusive team of lawyers to support the companyCoordinate, communicate and execute the strategic and operational objectives of the US Legal functionPartner with senior executives and business stakeholders to drive growth while managing legal and regulatory riskActively manage external spend related to regulatory advice required by the businessAct as a member of the US Legal Executive Committee, contributing as required on both regional and global issues and leadership actionsEvaluate and respond to changes in legal and regulatory requirements as they arise, including acting as the interlock with U.S. regulators, where applicable

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $300,000.00 and $400,000.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
