We are seeking a visionary and decisive Head of Uvalde Proving Grounds to lead our state-of-the-art testing facility located in Uvalde, Texas, United States. As the head of this critical operation, you will oversee all aspects of our proving grounds, ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and innovation in vehicle and equipment testing.

Develop and implement strategic plans for the proving grounds, aligning with organizational goals and industry trendsLead and mentor a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff to achieve operational excellenceOversee the planning, execution, and analysis of complex test programs for various vehicles and equipmentEnsure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standardsManage budgets, resources, and timelines for multiple projects simultaneouslyCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, product development, and quality assuranceDrive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing methodologies and facility capabilitiesLiaise with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners to maintain strong relationships and secure new business opportunitiesStay abreast of emerging technologies and industry advancements to keep the facility at the forefront of testing capabilities

Qualifications

BASIC

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Automotive10+ years related professional experienceMinimum 5 years of experience in automotive testing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role at a proving ground or similar facilityProven track record in project management, with the ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneouslyStrong leadership skills with experience in team management and mentoringProficiency in budget management and resource allocationComprehensive understanding of automotive industry testing procedures and vehicle performance evaluationExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and external partnersWillingness to relocate to Uvalde, Texas, and travel as required for the role (less than 10% of the time)Internal qualified candidates will meet internal guidelines for this executive level role:18+ months experience of leading people and/or projects18+ months working internationally, cross functionally and/or cross organizationallyACfEL must be complete before a promotion to SG 13Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
