Position Summary

We are looking for an expert and agile leader to drive focus categories growth for eBay in France and lead our team of industry experts. 

Reporting to the Country Manager, you will be in charge of the Focus Categories P&L from generating demand to driving operating income. You will craft the categories strategy and coordinate the different levers to deliver it: traffic creation, supply optimization, services and partnerships, pricing and merchandising – embracing buyers and sellers!

You will be working with a range of partners, both local and global to tailor the strategy to the French market while make the most of our global platform and operations.

The role is based in Central Paris in a team that has received several Great Place to Work awards (top 20 in 2023 and Great place to Work for Women).

Key responsibilities include:

Overall optimization of the Categories P&L and eBay market share in focus categories in FranceDefinition of demand, supply and services strategyPerformance management including analysis and course correction. Scope covers buying activity, selling side, experience/services and customer satisfaction – including imports & exportsOptimize the existing performance and define new business development optionsClose and manage strategic partnerships when relevantTeam management : small team of direct reports (category managers)Collaborating with cross functional teams : product, legal, marketing, customer service, other categories leaders internationallyYou will work both in French and in English daily

You will have:

Minimum 10 years experience, of which 5 years+ in management consulting and category management role in the e-commerce industry, ideally marketplaceKnowledge of the e-commerce industryAble to navigate between strategic planning and operational execution, analytics and commercial negotiation with partners, between sellers and buyer needsAn agile leader with strong commercial competenceSelf-starter and comfortable operating with small teams in a fast-changing environmentExperience in leading cross functional teams, as well as team managementInternational and/or technology experience a plus.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors Degree, or equivalentMinimum 10 years of experience, of which 5 years+ in management consulting  companies and e-commerceFluent in French and English (operating in English)
