Head Terminal Operator

Operates and monitors company plants and facilities, typically Upstream facilities after primary separation and processing (such as gas and co-gen plants) and Downstream & Chemical refineries and plants. Monitors process variables, troubleshoots, and performs interventions to maintain operating performance.

Performs work of higher levels of complexity, scope, and impact. May assist with more complex projects. Detailed knowledge of work group processes and procedures.


Working leader in immediate charge of the safe operations of terminal maintenance and terminal operations related to receipt, storage, and disbursement of all products.

Gives work direction to other Terminal Operators or works alone with full maintenance and Terminal operation responsibilities at Terminals with no on- site exempt supervision.

Responsible for planning and organizing work to meet commitments for product receipts. Collaborates with Supply Schedulers, suppliers, and transporters for all products.

Responsible for Inventory Reconciliation

Responsible for planning and organizing work to meet commitments for product shipments. Collaborates with supply schedulers, and transporters for all products.

Assures compliance with all operating procedures, operating requirements, and Safe Work Practices by anyone who comes into our facilities.

Responsible for inspections and maintenance to ensure proper operation and environmental integrity.

Initiates corrective action.Arranges for repairs.Schedules, directs and/or performs maintenance activities.Leads the preventative maintenance plan.

Responsible for leading activities in the tank yard and Tank Truck Loading Rack (TTLR) areas. For example:

Gauging TanksDraining Water (roofs and bottoms)Switching tanks serving TTLRDischarging storm waterSealing meters and fittingsPerforming daily inspectionsPerforming intra-terminal product movements.

Responsible for blending, sampling, and testing of all products to meet specifications by monitoring and maintaining equipment and documentation.

Trains and mentors’ employees on terminal operations activities.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Valid Driver's License
Ability to troubleshoot and perform maintenance repairs (mechanically inclined)
Work rotating shifts, on-call shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime to support terminal operations, and respond to emergency situations when they arise.
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and internal and external customers.
Ability to manage time effectively and work with minimal supervision.
Able to operate sophisticated fuel automation and computer systems
Must be able to meet all physical requirements of the job including climbing stairs and working on top of product storage tanks over 20 feet high and lift 30-35 pounds.
Basic knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and an aptitude for learning new CBT packages.
Clear and effective communication skills, both oral and written. Good Organizational skills

Plant/Terminal Operations Experience – 5 Years

Preferred Qualifications:

Plant/Terminal Operator Experience - 5 years preferredBasic Mechanical Understanding
