COMPENSATION This position is paid as follows: 10-standard teaching hours paid at the contractual hourly rate during the season of competition, plus an $18,270 stipend for out-of-class activities and two 6-standard hour and one 3-standard hour off-season conditioning classes paid at the contractual hourly rate (Starting @ $114.35). Play-off Stipend: The coaching staff will be compensated an additional $856 per week the team is in the 3C2A playoffs. Benefits: Adjunct instructors who teach over 6-standard hours per semester after two semesters will qualify for full benefits.

Los Angeles Mission College seeks a part-time, adjunct Head Women’s Basketball Coach to teach fall, spring, and intersession Kinesiology-Athletic classes. Los Angeles Mission College is a member of the Western State Conference (WSC) and the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A). The successful candidate will report to the Director of Athletics and will be responsible for all aspects of planning, managing, and directing a successful community college basketball program, including coaching, preparing and running practice, meet preparation, recruiting, matriculation, placement, developing positive player?coach relationships, budget management, team travel, public relations, fundraising, promotions, scheduling, rule compliance and other duties as assigned. The position will start at the end of Spring of 2025. The job is a part?time adjunct coaching assignment in the Athletic Department, and the continuation of the assignment is contingent upon funding and professional performance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience, which must be directly related to the teaching assignment. OR Associate’s degree and six years of professional experience, which must be directly related to the teaching assignment. A sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Educational Background: While not mandatory, degrees in Education, Physical Education, Exercise Sciences, or Kinesiology are highly valued. Coaching Experience: Prior experience in coaching within a college or successful high school environment, demonstrating a track record of effectively managing a sports program. Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Exceptional skills in interacting and communicating with diverse groups, showcasing the ability to engage effectively within a multicultural community. Program Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of all facets of the specified sports program, including strategies, training methods, and program development. Recruitment Expertise: Proficient in athletic recruitment methods and techniques, with an emphasis on ethical and effective strategies. Financial Management: Skills in budget preparation and fiscal management, ensuring responsible financial oversight of the sports program. Leadership in Athletics: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor student-athletes in the specified sport, promoting both athletic and personal development. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with 3C2A regulations and guidelines, particularly regarding the recruitment and retention of student-athletes. Teamwork and Cooperation: An aptitude for fostering a cooperative and collaborative work environment, both within the team and in the broader athletic department. Administrative Abilities: Competence in making administrative and procedural decisions and judgments, facilitating smooth operations within the sports program.
