Head Women's Volleyball Coach

Penn State Harrisburg Athletics is seeking candidates for the position of Head Women's Volleyball Coach. This position reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for the development, implementation, oversight, and operation of the College's NCAA Division III varsity intercollegiate women's volleyball program, including all aspects of coaching, recruiting, budgeting, scheduling, fundraising, and managing the intercollegiate program within the policies, and principles of Penn State University and the NCAA.

The Coach/Coordinator will be responsible for:
Compliance with University policies, state laws, including those pertaining to required clearances, conferences, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Oversight of the activities of assistant coaches, staff, boosters, and student athletes to verify compliance, with a mandate to self-report violations.
Identifying, evaluating, recruiting, and retaining prospective student athletes.
Coordinating practice planning, skill development and designing coaching strategies.
Providing support for the coordination and execution of the athletic programs.
Assisting with the supervision and training of athletic programming staff; developing employee manuals and implementing training programs and/or internships.
Assisting with the implementation of marketing and advertising plans for programs; presenting materials for camps, clinics, public speaking, and/or special events.
Adhering to general and program-specific safety policies, including the communication and enforcement of safety practices; maintaining certifications.
Suggesting items for purchase in support of athletic programming.
Ensuring proper use of sports-related equipment and reporting issues; assisting with equipment inventory and maintenance.
Adhering to and supporting the work unit's strategic plan and adhering to the established programming budget within University guidelines.


Education & Experience:
Requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
