Job SummaryWilberforce University is a small, Liberal Arts University with an Entrepreneurial focus, with a legacy of being the nation’s first private HBCU. This appointment starts on January 3, 2025.
The Head Women’s Soccer Coach will be responsible for directing and oversee a successful soccer program that is centered around the mission of Wilberforce University. The head coach will provide oversight for character development, student athlete recruitment, athletic excellence, and various administrative functions for the Women’s Soccer Program and the Athletic Department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Providing direction and coordination of the day-to-day operations of the Women’s Soccer Program. Recruit high character and athletically gifted student athletes. Continually monitor the academic progress of all student athletes in the program. Coordinate and oversee all aspects of team travel. Provide help with soccer field maintenance. Oversee game day event management. Provide facility upkeep and oversight for the University soccer field, and outdoor practice fields. Provide oversight of student workers. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Work within the budget guidelines set forth by the institution. Order and maintain all women’s soccer equipment and supplies. Coordinate all practices and games. Oversee all game scheduling for the program. Comply with all NAIA policies and guidelines. Computer Skills. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution preferred). Two years of successful coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level. Demonstrate successful collegiate recruiting abilities. Must be able to teach and communicate soccer skills and strategies in practice and games. Previous coaching or playing experience at the NAIA, or NCAA level is preferred.
