Headache Medicine Physician
Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionateHeadache Neurologistto join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The ideal candidate will specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of primary and secondary headache disorders. This position involves providing expert patient care, conducting clinical research (if applicable), and contributing to patient education and preventive care strategies. Key Responsibilities: * Patient Care and Clinical Practice * Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with various headache disorders, including migraine, tension-type headaches, cluster headaches, and secondary headache syndromes. * Develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans that may include medication, lifestyle modifications, behavioral therapy, or procedural interventions. * Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including general neurologists, pain management specialists, physical therapists, and psychologists, to ensure comprehensive patient care. * Perform or supervise specialized procedures (as applicable) such as nerve blocks, trigger point injections, or Botox injections for chronic migraine. * Patient Education and Support * Educate patients and their families on headache triggers, prevention strategies, and symptom management. * Provide guidance on non-pharmacological approaches to headache management, including stress reduction techniques, sleep hygiene, and dietary recommendations. * Research and Continuing Education * Participate in clinical research to advance the understanding and treatment of headache disorders. * Stay current with advancements in headache medicine and neurology through continuing medical education and professional conferences. * Administrative and Documentation Duties * Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records in accordance with regulatory standards. * Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and best practices.Qualifications: * Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school. * Board certification or board eligibility in Neurology. * Fellowship training or significant experience in headache medicine. * Licensure to practice medicine in New Hampshire. * Strong clinical and diagnostic skills, with a patient-centered approach to care.Key Skills and Competencies: * In-depth knowledge of headache pathophysiology, diagnostic criteria, and treatment modalities. * Proficiency in managing acute and chronic headache disorders. * Excellent communication skills and ability to provide compassionate, patient-focused care. * Strong problem-solving abilities and commitment to continuous learning and professional development. * Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
