Our Opening and Your ResponsibilitiesJoin our team as our Health, Safety and Environmental Manager, based in Leicester. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and programs to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and best practices.
As HSE Manager, you will be at the forefront of our commitment to health and safety. Your main aim will be to develop and implement comprehensive health and safety policies that align with the latest legislation. You will collaborate with management and employees to ensure these policies are actively applied throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities:
The role involves: Managing on-site and field risk assessments and method statements, ensuring quality and regular reviews.Collaborating with managers to implement corrective actions and improvements, and conducting audits.Overseeing the COSHH register and advising on chemical safety.Preparing compliance reports and presentations to demonstrate adherence to legislation and continuous improvement.Gathering, monitoring, and reporting Health, Safety, and Environmental performance data while suggesting improvements.Staying updated on Health and Safety legislation and informing department heads of significant changes.Managing new starter HSE inductions to foster a strong Health and Safety culture.Working with HR and occupational health to support employees returning from illness or injury and conducting assessments.Completing HSE customer questionnaires and managing annual contractor H&S accreditations.Reviewing HSE training needs and records, and addressing any gaps.Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and ISO Certifications.Serving as the HSE representative for Mettler Toledo UK premises and chairing SHEQ Committee meetings.Acting as Senior Fire Marshall and First Aider, overseeing the Fire Marshalls and first aiders.Performing duties as a Radiation Protection Supervisor and handling ad hoc projects.Advising on PPE requirements and participating in fleet and driver management processes.Keeping the legal register updated and informing senior management of changes.
