Your role and responsibilities

As a HSE Director, you will have to lead, manage, develop and implement the strategy for the assigned core Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs in collaboration with the businesses to cultivate a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE. You adapt policies and procedures to continuously improve performance.This role contributes to the Electrification, Installation Products ABB division.•\tServes as the primary HSE interface within their assigned area of responsibility and cultivates a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE.•\tEstablish a clear vision and work with the management team to implement strategic prevention programs and plans that will contribute to a culture of excellence in HSE.•\tOversees the risk management of HSE program-related issues by providing advice on key ABB policy decisions to the executive committee, senior management, and HSE Function Head.•\tDrives behavioral change through the local implementation of group-wide and business-specific performance improvement programs and practices.•\tEnsures the HSE incidents are reported to the management and relevant stakeholders and drives the implementation of investigations and takes appropriate actions.•\tDrives HSE-related learning across the organization for continuous improvement.•\tEmbeds an exemplary health and safety culture and a strong focus on the environment across their respective organization.•\tDefines Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), sets benchmark key objectives and targets, and delivers results to the group management and external stakeholders.•\tEnsures the program performance is regularly monitored and reported to the relevant stakeholders.•\tEnsure the maintenance of the HSE management system and participate in internal and external audits, government agencies and insurance partners, as needed).•\tContribute to the deployment and implementation of various HSE programs and procedures (ergonomics, lockout, electrical safety, planned inspections and audits, etc.) and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.•\tLiving ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues, and the business.•\tEnsure full Legal compliance of all Canada Sites, namely esnure that Certificates of Authorization/Permits are in place, ensure that NPRI, Ministry of Environement and City legal reporting are compelted and sent on-time.•\tDrives cross collaboartion and best practice sharing across ELIP Canada sites.•\tActively participate in Division environmental projects in line with 2030 Sustianability Strategy.

Qualifications for the role

University degree in environment, ergonomics, and/or any relevant certification, diploma, or experience.10 to 15 years of experience in a similar position, in a manufacturing environment.Excellent knowledge of applicable HSE laws, regulations, and standards.Good knowledge of standards, guidelines, and specifications.Project management skills.Auditor certification is an asset.Communication skills and mandatory bilingualism, French and English. French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
