Horizon BCBS seeks a self-directed Health and Network Solutions intern.Responsibilities:
Undertakes an internship designed to provide on-the-job training and experienceEngage in various work assignments, projects, and activities of varying complexity, structured to enable the intern to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform at a professional level.Undertake and/or participates in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise appropriate to the needs of the organization.Work in multidisciplinary teams to identify, quantify return on investment, and track medical cost reduction initiativesDrive and Produce various financial reporting and analytical activities that support Medical Cost Action Plan (MCAP) ReportingIdentify the key variance factors between Projection savings submitted by business owners and actual results generated by actuarialAssist the coordination with the Medical Cost Optimization Committee on the ingestion and implementation of medical cost optimization solutionsImplement analytic tools and techniques to identify cost drivers and ways to improve medical cost performanceTranslate advanced excel reporting and data into comprehensive presentations for leadershipPerform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.Education/Experience:
Entry Level RoleRequires High School DiplomaPursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Strong verbal and written communicationExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAdvanced experience in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointAbility to work well in teamsStrong work ethic and attention to detailLocation: 1700 American Blvd. Pennington, NJ – Hybrid Work Schedule
Schedule: 8am-5pm (9 hour work day with lunch)
Duration: 11 week Summer Internship Program (June 2, 2025 – August 15, 2025)
