We are currently looking for a Health and Safety Advisor to join us at our facility in Huthwaite, UK.
The Health & Process Safety site representative is responsible for giving guidance in all Environmental, Health & Process Safety (EHPS) Process Safety is responsible for ensuring the safety of employees, the environment, and the community by identifying and mitigating risks associated with manufacturing processes. They use their knowledge of engineering principles to develop and implement safety procedures and protocols, as well as evaluate and improve existing safety plans. Giving guidance and support to Axalta Liquid Coatings Huthwaite Ltd (AH), which includes the Aberdeen and Belfast Depots.
Key responsibilities:
To assist Management and Support Functions in:
Maintaining, implementing, and improving the EHPS requirements and advise Management on actions required.Assisting management in defining EHPS objectives for the above locationsEnsuring that all incidents and accidents are investigated and where necessary are reported on ETQEnsuring that all incidents and accidents are investigated and where necessary RIDDOR reports are written and submitted to the HSE.Ensuring that all EHPS requirements detailed in the Health, Safety and Environmental Policy & Arrangements document are carried outProduce training presentations with regards to EHPS requirementsTo develop and maintain a high level of awareness among all personnel through communications, training, and active personal involvement of employees in HSE/PSM through prevention and training.To ensure regular updating of personal qualifications and attend to personal training as required.Ensure compliance with the conditions of the Site’s Environmental permit and that staff are also trained on the environmental aspects of the permit.Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as dictated by business needs and as assigned by management.Key requirements:
5+ years of experience in process safety engineering or related fieldHolder of NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & SafetyCertification in Process Safety Management (PSM) preferredConduct safety reviews to identify potential hazards and develop solutions to mitigate risksDevelop and implement safety procedures and protocolsEnsure compliance with local, safety regulationsInvestigate accidents and incidents to determine root cause and implement corrective actionsCollaborate with other departments to ensure safety is integrated into all processes and designsExperience within chemical industry is ideal.
