Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated Health and Safety Intern to join our team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in health and safety practices and compliance within a dynamic workplace. The intern will assist in the implementation of health and safety programs and policies, helping to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. Key Responsibilities: • Maintain Policy/Procedure references. Check current/future documents for correct citations, i.e. ANSI, MIOSHA, OSHA, NFPA, etc. • Develop and maintain complete list of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Hazard Assessments for each position at F&V. • Work with other H&S staff with creating and maintaining Training Profiles for employees by job type/title/classification. • Review and validate listing of Master Contractors by business unit for proper citations, including all MIOSHA/OSHA, and safety performance history. • Assist with data collection and analysis related to health and safety metrics. • Participate in safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies. • Support the Health and Safety Manager in promoting safety awareness among employees. • Help prepare materials for safety meetings and training sessions. • Contribute to ongoing projects and initiatives related to workplace safety. • Monitor and update safety signage. • Perform administrative tasks related to health and safety projects and initiatives. Qualifications: • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a degree program in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. • Strong interest in health and safety practices and regulations. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. • Willingness to learn and take initiative in a dynamic work environment. • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
