Salary: up to £44,000 per year depending on experience

We are delighted to be able to offer an exciting career in Safety & Security working for the world’s leading Hotel chain.

This full time position is available and will report to the Hotel’s Director of Operations but is also under the guidance of qualified Safety & Security professionals within Hilton.

\n

Your day to day role will cover occupational health and safety, fire safety, food safety, crisis management, environmental protection & disability compliance.

\n

 

\n

What will I be doing?

\n

\n

•        Undertake regular inspections of the property based on company health and safety reviews to ensure compliance with company standards and legal requirements

\n

•        Develop and review safety and security action plans for the Hotel

\n

•        Ensure internal risk assessment and hazard analysis processes are carried out fully and regularly reviewed for the Hotel

\n

•        Offer advice to Hotel Management on issues related to Occupational Health and Safety, Food Safety, Fire Safety, Disability Compliance, and any other related Environmental Health issues such as noise complaints as within the remit of the Safety & Security Department

\n

•        Assist Hotel Management in managing guest complaints

\n

•        Provide comments on changes to Hotel systems and procedures or structure with regard any Safety and Security issues mentioned above

\n

•        Assist Hotel Management in the implementation of procedures, policies and processes to include new or modified UK regulatory requirements as directed by the Director of Safety and Security UK&I.

\n

•        Assist Hotel Management on public/employee liability claims handling to minimise direct or indirect costs

\n

•        Carry out management training in health and safety, fire safety, food safety and disability compliance

\n

•        Liaise with relevant enforcement authorities on safety matters

\n

•        Assist the Hotel’s Security Manager with security responses to increased threat levels in liaison with the Regional Safety & Security Team 

\n

•        Follow up on the Hotel audit program to ensure compliance within agreed timescales

\n

•        Manages effective partnerships with all Heads of Department

\n

•        Lead on any Hotel based Safety & Security initiatives communicated from Corporate Office

\n

•        Assist Hotel Management Team with large conference and events where safety controls need implementation and review to ensure a safe operation

\n

•        Ensures legal compliance with safety and security including fire safety, security, occupational health and safety and food safety

\n

•        Maintain up to date knowledge of new or revised local legislation and current guidance, and to ensure personal professional development is maintained

\n

•        Assesses actual performance against standards to determine whether the Hotel is on target to reach its goals and takes corrective actions as necessary 

\n

•        Enforces policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the Hotel

\n

 

\n

What are we looking for?

\n

•        Ability to deal effectively with all team members and guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger and collect accurate information

\n

•        Good communication skills and people skills

\n

•      Ability to use a variety of programs on the computer in order to prepare correspondence, produce reports and presentations and communicate via email

\n

Due to the nature of the job, we are only interviewing candidates who have qualifications and experience in a relevant health and safety or environmental health discipline.
