The EHS Manager is responsible for providing leadership, direction, guidance, and support for the planning, implementation and operation of the organization’s Environmental Health and Safety management system (EHSMS) for the Manufacturing, Warehouse and Traffic departments in our Lethbridge, Taber, and Bow Island Operations Facilities.This position will be required to work a flexible schedule as needed and will support the Lethbridge, Taber, and Bow Island facilities so some travel will be required. Serve as the subject matter expert and then manage the implementation and ongoing operation of corporate driven EHS programs. Represent the organization on government, international organization and industry committees (e.g. ICAO, IATA, CAA, AIB, etc.). Conduct Hazard and Risk Assessments to proactively identify areas of opportunity and develop and implement actions to eliminate or mitigate the hazards and risks within the organization. Assure the implementation of annual EHS compliance goals and targets for all levels. Assist in the continuous improvement of the hazard identification and risk assessment schemes and the organization’s EHS Management System. Provide, coordinate, and evaluate the effectiveness of the employee EHS training and education programs, health and safety training and orientation for new employees, subject matter experts, and line management. Ability to collaborate and influence at all levels in order to successfully action the EHS Agenda. Provide consultative guidance and information to Site Leadership Team on EHS priorities and risks, associated costs, performance, major issues, and interpretation of regulatory requirements. Builds and maintains strong working relationship with both the Site Business Team and the National EHS Team, identifying and sharing best practices and leveraging strengths across Canada.
