Your Role on Our Team:
As a Health and Safety Representative, you will be responsible for implementing Minto’s team-oriented health and safety program. This role supports the Construction Team by monitoring and implementing Minto’s regulatory Health and Safety Policies.
In This Role, You Will:
Monitor, maintain, and implement Minto’s and the Ministry of Labour’s (MOL) health and safety policies, reporting to the General Site Superintendent.Maintain safety files and log activities.Keep Minto employee training records up to date.Conduct safety toolbox talks with trade partners and staff.Assist with the implementation and adoption of E-Compliance.Coordinate orientation for new trades on site.Track safety infractions and report on trends.Host and take minutes of joint health and safety meetings.Keep records of trade health and safety policies, toolbox meetings, safety certifications, etc.Ensure all safety rails and ramps comply with MOL regulations (this is a labor-intensive part of the job).Ensure all relevant signage is installed and in place.Install temporary fencing when required.Ensure trades are following health and safety policies and report any violators to the Site Superintendent.Maintain health and safety equipment on site (fire extinguishers, first aid kits, stretchers, etc.).We Would Like You to Have:
A High School Diploma; relevant post-secondary education is considered an asset.2-5 years of health and safety experience, preferably in the construction industry.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Dependability and reliability.Adaptability and flexibility.Strong time management skills.Good organizational skills to maintain specific timelines.Attention to detail.A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
