Summary:
Focus on improving EH&S at the Holland site by using his/her experience to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control hazards in the workplace and engage employees in the development of a strong EH&S culture. Evaluates workplace compliance with regard to local, state and federal regulations. Functions as an expert resource to teams for consistent implementation of company EH&S standards and programs. Performs jobsite auditing and conducts incident investigation. Conducts inspections and ensures compliance with applicable EH&S regulations and standards.
Responsibilities:
+ Oversee one or more plant-wide safety, health and/or environmental programs
+ Manage the ISO 14001 certification process and lead the Environmental Compliance Team to drive continuous improvement in all environmental programs
+ Ensure hazard identification and mitigation for plant operations and administrative offices
+ Conduct daily line walks to ensure EH&S practices are being observed and to note any at-risk behaviors, unsafe conditions, faulty equipment or non-compliance with any EH&S related policies/regulations
+ Ensure timely communication of safety issues/concerns to department leadership
+ Lead cross-functional teams to drive improvements across the organization
+ Participate in incident investigations and track corrective actions
+ Conduct new equipment reviews, mechanical risk assessments and ergonomic risk assessments
+ Participate in emergency response drills and critiques
+ Conduct new hire orientation, contractor safety and other EH&S related training topics
+ Develop/update site specific programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
+ Communicate with LGESMI SH&E colleagues around the globe
+ Maintain cleanliness at worksite in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
+ Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
+ Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
+ Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree required in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering ore related field required, MBA or MS preferred, or equivalent, relevant experience
+ Professional certification (ASP/CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred
Experience:
+ 3-7+ years of experience evaluating and improving EH&S programs in a manufacturing environment
+ Demonstrated leadership experience is preferred
+ Experience managing ISO 14001:2015 certification
Skills:
+ MS Office Suite
+ Strong written and verbal communications skills
+ Problem solving and analytical skills
+ Strong knowledge of and experience working with OSHA, EPA and state/local regulations and requirements
+ Knowledge in advanced manufacturing technology (automation), chemicals, and electrical
+ safety is a plus
+ Must be comfortable working in a team setting
+ Skill in analyzing and evaluating technical data, test results, and reports
+ Positive attitude, self-driven, strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated effectiveness in accomplishing goals
+ Excellent organizational, communication, and computer skills
+ Ability to work flexible hours occasionally
