Acrisure's Atlanta-based VCG Consultants is looking for a Health & Welfare Benefits Analyst to join our employee benefits consulting team. The Analyst serves as a technical and analytical team member, supporting a variety of data-driven projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities:
Analytics for Consulting Clients
Use data analytics expertise to contribute to a variety of projects involving the design, financing and ongoing management of our clients’ health and welfare benefit programs.
Collect, analyze and interpret claims and utilization data from carriers and vendors and prepare reporting for clients
Provide clients with the insights they need to make benefit decisions and manage the financial risk of their benefit plans through data analytics, reporting and plan design modeling.
Model plan design alternatives to help clients understand the financial implications of various changes to their benefit plans.
Perform underwriting and financial analyses to recommend benefit funding and employee contribution strategies, to project benefit costs, to forecast budget, and to evaluate renewal rates.
Analyze workforce demographics, benefits benchmark data and industry trends to help inform client benefit decisions.
Utilize existing data analytics tools to perform claims analysis to identify trends, cost-drivers and cost-containment opportunities.
Assess and summarize the financial impact of marketing benefits across various vendors/carriers, including analysis of claims, administrative costs and other key decision factors
Prepare regular client financial reporting packages, including monthly and quarterly claims reports
Maintain knowledge of health and welfare benefit vendor capabilities
Provide written reports and presentations that summarize the data analyzed, interpret the findings, and provide conclusions and actionable recommendations.
Monitor and report on benefit plan performance – for example, benefit utilization, financial performance relative to budget etc.
Analytics for our Legacy Agency
Analyze data to spot trends and provide insights that can be used to better understand, improve and predict VCG business performance.
Identify opportunities to enhance and further automate VCG’s current data collection, visualization and reporting techniques to better manage the business.
Requirements:
Critical thinking skills, plus the intellectual curiosity to question/test assumptions
Ability to convert data into usable information and insights that are easy for a non-technical audience to understand
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
Experience with Power BI and Tableau preferred
Ability to build effective visual presentations and analytical dashboards
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organization and prioritization skills
Ability to coordinate a variety of activities and manage multiple priorities
Ability to work well under pressure
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree is required. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Risk Management or Data Science/Analytics is a plus.
Master’s degree in related field is preferred.
At least three years of health & welfare consulting and/or health analytics experience is required.
At least one year of experience performing medical and prescription drug claims analysis is preferred
Some underwriting experience is preferred.
