Health Applications Analyst I, II, III, or Senior (Surgery)

Overview Performs as the Health Applications Analyst for Information Technology (IT), providing Electronic Health Record (EHR) support to end-users. Assesses, plans, develops, designs, implements, enhances, maintains, and supports the Cerner Millennium Solutions associated to the position. Analyzes, evaluates, documents, and makes recommendations related to EHR patient and information flow within the health system. Implements and supports multi-service software packages that automate the capture of clinical encounter information and its subsequent retrieval. Qualifications EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT Health Application Analyst I Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university in a health related occupational field (i.e., nurse practitioner, registered nurse, pharmacist, dentist or physician assistant; or 6 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A non-health related Bachelor’s degree will be accepted with at least three (3) years of experience in working with EHR/EMRs. An additional three (3) years of experience in a related field. Health Application Analyst II Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university in a health related occupational field (i.e., nurse practitioner, registered nurse, pharmacist, dentist or physician assistant; or 6 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A non-health related Bachelor’s degree will be accepted with at least three (3) years of experience in working with EHR/EMRs. An additional five (5) years of experience in a related field. Health Applications Analyst III Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university in a health related occupational field (i.e., nurse practitioner, registered nurse, pharmacist, dentist or physician assistant; or 6 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A non-health related Bachelor’s degree will be accepted with at least three (3) years of experience in working with EHR/EMRs. An additional seven (7) years of experience in a related field. Senior Health Applications Analyst Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university in a health-related occupational field (i.e., nurse practitioner, registered nurse, pharmacist, dentist, or physician assistant); or 6 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A non-health related Bachelor’s degree will be accepted with at least three (3) years of experience in working with EHR/EMRs. An additional ten (10) years of experience in a related field. COMPUTER SKILLS An individual should know Accounting software, Database software, Design software, Development software, Project Management software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid driver’s license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). Ambulatory Nursing, Ancillary, Behavioral Health, Dental, Emergency Department, Inpatient Nursing, Obstetrics, Order Management, Revenue Cycle, and Surgery areas. Must have experience in the coordination of other automated health care information systems, such as Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Must possess a working knowledge of the Privacy Act, HIPAA, quality improvement principles and information security regulations. Must possess advanced knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, methodologies and procedures of a professional health-related occupational field, such as a nurse practitioner, registered nurse, pharmacist, dentist or physician assistant. Must demonstrate the following: Ability to adapt to a fast pace Health IT environment Analytical problem solving skills Strong interpersonal skills The ability to fluently read and speak the English language, with knowledge of the Cherokee language considered desirable. Must be results oriented, have focus on accountability and be able to maintain professional attitude and performance Ambulatory Nursing only: Experience in the use of EHR Ambulatory Nursing Solutions is preferred, specifically Cerner PowerChart, DCP Tools, and Bedrock. Ancillary only: Experience in the use of Cerner SurgiNet and Anesthesiology Solutions is preferred, specifically PowerChart, DCP Tools, iView Bands and Bedrock. Behavioral Health only: Experience in the use of EHR Behavioral Health Solutions is preferred, specifically PowerChart, DCP Tools, Bedrock, and Revenue Cycle Scheduling and Registration. Dental: Experience in the use of Dentrix is preferred, specifically Revenue Cycle Scheduling and Registration. Emergency Department: Experience in the use of EHR Emergency Department Solutions is preferred, specifically FirstNet, PowerChart, DCP Tools, and Bedrock. Inpatient Nursing: Experience in the use of EHR Inpatient Nursing Solutions is preferred, specifically PowerChart, DCP Tools, and Bedrock. Obstetrics: Experience in the use of EHR Inpatient Obstetrics Solutions is preferred, specifically PowerChart, Bedrock, CMT Maintenance Tool, DCP Tools, Pregnancy History and summary, PowerChart Maternity Tracking Shell, and Fetal Link. Order Management: Experience in the use of EHR Order Management Solutions is preferred, specifically PowerChart, DCP Tools, and Bedrock. Revenue Cycle: Experience in the use of Cerner Revenue Cycle Solutions is preferred. Surgery: Experience in the use of Cerner SurgiNet and Anesthesiology Solutions is preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
